TPC Toronto at Osprey Valley - North Course
Played On 07/06/2017Great course but stay out of the bunkers
If there was anything negative about the day it was the unpaved parking lot - other than that it was spectacular. Pro Shop was clean and uncluttered and staff were friendly and very helpful.
I played mid-week and in the morning. It's a long drive to the clubhouse from the street but it's expected when you're passing through three 18 hole courses. The grounds were in immaculate condition and showed the care of the groundcrews.
No one was on course and I had a leisurely round on my own around Toot. Parkland course layout is easy to manage with mostly wide and forgiving fairways. Great scenic views and songbirds greeting you all along the way.
Greens are not overly large and require a good approach. Elevated greens are well manicured and run true. The real challenge on the course are the greenside (and to some degree fairway) bunkers. Tough uphill shots from the bunkers will challenge golfers of any skill level.
Holes are well placed and aid in a quick round. I played the 18 holes in just over 3 hours and by no means did I rush it. Likely a different experience on weekends.
Well worth the price but next time I may just take advantage of the play all day special they have at this course - considering there are three full 18s it would be well worth the price.
Banty's Roost Golf and Country Club - Blue/Red
Played On 07/04/2017You get what you pay for
Three 9s are available but they all play the same. Relatively flat and straight forward. Bunkers were like hitting out of mostly dried cement - very firm; may as well have bene clay. Tee boxes are okay though I wish they flattened them out. For the price it's good for beginners but likely not for the experienced player looking to be challenged. I played early morning (8am) mid-week and got in a round in just over 4 hours - though I thought that was still a little slow for this course.
