Played On 07/28/2018Beautiful venue and a challenging layout
A bit different Pete Dye design with smaller greens than expected and no penalizing bunkers around the green or along the fairways. The greens rolled about a 9.5 and not much break. Don’t overread them. The White Tees play 6500 and with a North wind the incoming 4 holes play long. Slope at 134 is a good test for the 11 to 15 handicap.
The views of the New River are very relaxing.

My son and I played the blue tees and we are 12 handicappers and had a fun round. Probably could have played Gold tees but I don't drive it longer than 230 yes and there are a couple of up hill holes that would make my 85 more of a high 80's.
First few greens are fairly flat and easy to read but there are a number of blind shots to greens that have more contour. Could have used some guidance in the course guide we were given.
