Meadowbrook at Clayton
Played On 07/05/2015Can't wait to play here again
You've read the other reviews about the old Country Club charm of this course so I will save you the time. You really need to play here, you won't be sorry. Nothing more boring than a flat lifeless golf course--this place is cut along rolling hills and several tee boxes are elevated as well as several greens. Very challenging for any skill level and for $19 on Golfnow it was a win win. Playing here places importance of hitting the fairways as the rough is definitely on the long side. Thought I was playing in the U.S. Open on a couple of errant drives. Some bunkers could use a bit more sand but I sure have seen ALOT worse around Dayton as of late.
Kittyhawk Golf Center - Eagle Course
Played On 05/28/2015Very Nice
Except for some excessive grass clippings on a couple holes the Eagle was in great shape. I've played it many times before and was not disappointed with conditions on this day. Bunkers could use some sand.
Sugar Isle Golf Course
Played On 05/21/2015A bit chilly for May
We were the second group out as a twosome following a foursome. Caught them on the back nine but didn't really affect us much. Course is known for slower play but we will go back for sure. In great shape, they were mowing that day on a Thursday and were very good about waiting for us to hit. Signs clearly mark where the next tee box is which comes in handy when you haven't played there before. #9 has an island green which is very nice.
Pipestone Golf Club
Played On 05/13/2015Great Shape
Unfortunately pace of play was hampered by an outing on a Wednesday and it was difficult to get into a rhythm. Course was in great shape and the fairways cut pretty short and the rough not as deep as some in the area. They were changing the batteries in the carts that day and ours was not one that had been changed yet. I had to push ours uphill starting on #15. This was my second time playing here and can't wait to play here again.
Cassel Hills Golf Course
Played On 6/8/2013Staff was fantastic
I can't say enough about how well the rangers maintained pace of play. Saw the ranger three times-- once to say hi and make sure we were having a positive experience, second time to let us know of an issue ahead of us with four elderly gentleman really backing things up and the third time to tell us to play as much as we wanted just make sure the cart was in before dark. Course was in pretty good shape, greens were a little rough. Was my first time, won be my last.
