World Tour Golf Links
Played On 09/27/2019Always in our golf Package
This golf course is easy to sum up in one word, FUN!!! The 100 yard wide fairway of the number 1 and 9 holes on the Open course is awesome. The 17th at sawgrass is challenging. I could play amen corner every day. The golf course was in perfect shape. Greens were fast and smooth. Driving range had balls ready on the range in little golf bags which all courses in golf resort areas should have. The practice area is top notch. Best restaurant of the golf courses we played with a very friendly staff. This course will remain in our package for a 7th straight time in 2021.
Wild Wing Plantation - Avocet Course
Played On 09/26/2019Great Value Course in Founders Club Package
This golf course was great surprise. The layout of the golf course is incredible. Pretty open with a short driveable par 4. Only negative was there was a slow group about three groups ahead of us but the rangers eventually moved them along. This golf course is a lot of fun to play. The greens were in perfect shape. We will be back on our 2021 trip. This course should be included in your package if your going to book the founders club package. The cart girl and the wait staff in the restaurant were all very friendly. Again charging for range balls is a negative in my book. Myrtle beach is a resort area the balls should be free of charge and be on the range waiting for golfers.
Grande Dunes Resort Club
Played On 09/24/2019Must Play Course
This is a must play course in the founders club package. The layout is pretty open with the best GPS system in Myrtle beach guiding you around the course. The practice facilities are top notch. Golf balls are waiting for you on the driving range and the short game practice area is as good as it gets. Only negative is the greens were top dressed which made them a little hard to read. The greens were not breaking like the last time we played here and I believe the top dressing was the reason. This golf course is so much fun to play. The views of the inter coastal waterway are unreal. The houses on the course are unreal almost showing off. This course is a must play.
Pawleys Plantation Golf & Country Club
Played On 09/23/2019Must Play in Founders Club Package
This Jack Nicklaus signature course is a beauty. Range balls were provided free which is always a positive in my book. Only negative is the balls should be on the range. They give them to you at the bag drop in small bags. The two mines are very different. Front 9 is pretty straight forward and gives you an opportunity to score. The back 9 has a lot of water and goes out towards the wetlands. There are two short par 3’s played off an interesting set of tee boxes. The views on both par 3’s are majestic. You can get lost in the views on the back 9. The wind is much stronger on the back 9 as there are less trees than the front 9. This is a must play in the founders club package. Will definitely return on our 2021 golf trip.
Willbrook Plantation Golf Club
Played On 09/22/2019Trees In the way Everywhere
The golf course layout itself isn’t bad. But the 1st hole has a tree right in front of the green which affects all approach shots. There are tree limbs are in the way on multiple holes. Range balls were not included which is always a major negative in my book. The staff was very friendly. But another negative was there was no drink cart on a Sunday. It was sunny and 85 out this is a big mistake by the golf course. The range is very small. We had 9 players in our group and we filled the entire range. Also the holes had to be in the same place for multiple days because there was damage around several holes. There are better value courses in the founders club package.
Wachesaw Plantation East
Played On 09/21/2019Excellent Warm Up Course
We played Wachesaw East the day we arrived in Myrtle Beach. The golf course was well manicured and a pleasure to play for the first course of the week. Range balls were included with the green fees which all courses in a resort area like myrtle beach should do but it’s not always the case. We played Saturday afternoon around 1:30 PM. The staff was friendly, especially the cart lady who had a great personality. The golf course is pretty straight forward. There are really no trick to the course. Greens were fast but are pretty flat so not much break. Overall it was a fun course to play. Only one gative was the tee box on the one par 3 really gave you know room with the overhanging branches from the trees. Other than that I would highly recommend this course to get use to playing golf in the conditions of the Myrtle beach area. Getting used to the Bermuda rough is key when you are going to play 6 rounds in 7 days.
Blue/Ridge at Blue Ridge Trail Golf Club
Played On 07/15/2016Pace of Play
Pace of play today was horrendous. Five hours to play 18 holes doesn't sound bad but a 10 minute wait on every tee box is ridiculous. Also we were rushed on the range because we were told the tee was open. When we drove to the first tee there was a group on the tee box and a group on the fairway. Course was in great shape as always. Website said $34 if you booked you tee time online we were charged $38. This is the worst experience I have ever had at this golf course. No rangers seen all day to move the 2 slow groups in front of us.
