Has potential with some TLC.

The staff was very delightful and it was mentioned that the course was recently under new ownership. However, I felt that the course was in very poor condition because of probably years of poor maintenance.
Tee boxes were in good condition, as were the greens, but the fairways, sand traps, and rough were in very poor condition. On the back 9, many of the fairways and roughs were infested with weeds and had large areas of ground under repair, including many areas of bare dirt. The smaller sand traps were no longer maintained and had become grass traps. the rough was experiencing the same problems as the fairways.
Now the greens were in excellent condition. They were very well maintained and challenging with lots of slop. The ground was also very soft, so wedge shot had opportunity to fly like they should.
Overall course layout is very flat with very little challenge. There were not many dog legs and when there were they were slight. yardages were off on at least one whole. I was on the 471 yard par 5 in two shots. If yardage was correct my drive was 321 years, so not likely. I usually drive 225-250. My second shot from the 150 marker landed on the back of the green with may 150 year club.
I feel this course has lots of potential, aside from being a very flat course. If there fix the bunkers and repair the fairways this would be a very nice course for beginners. The fairways are wide, wide visibility on the course, and greens are large. It also has some opportunity to create more challenge. Majority of the holes have a dry ditch running through the fairway that likely used to be water. If they are repaired and water was flowing it could create some challenge for the skilled golfer.

Love this course

I always love playing at Huron Hills. Not a long course, but offers some challenges to every player. Currently, the tee box for hole 8 and the greens for hole 9 & 18 are having some flooding issues. I overshot the green on 18 and found myself in a pole of water which once was a bunker. Other than the flooring problems the course was in good condition and the pace of play was great. I played as a single and finished the course in 3 hours. I had several interactions with the course staff this time around and they were always very friendly. I will be back to play this course again many times, I am lucky it is practically in my backyard.

Tee Time Cancelled

Unfortunately, I was unable to play the course. I was called at 9:00 am to cancel my 1:30pm tee time. They cliamed they were closing the course do to rain and flooding. I believe it was because I booked as a single and they didn't want to accommodate a single. They then changed their 3:50pm tee time to 2 only, making me have to buy two spots if I wanted to play. I am curious how the course is closed at 1:30 pm, but dry enough to open at 3:50pm. only 21/2 hours later.

Loved this course

I played this course as a single, just trying to get a quick 18 in, but the course played very slow after the 10th hole. I got stuck behind a foursome of beginners that did not know to let me play through. I still enjoyed my round greatly and spend some time talking to the couple playing behind me.
This course is very well maintained and the first course I have been to this year that actually had accurate and visible yardage markers. every hole had 50, 100, and 150 markers (when needed). The course had thick rough which I like, I don't like it when you cant tell the difference between rough and fairway.
The one thing the course needed was more signs directing you between holes. I got lost for a min after the 9th and 11th holes. after the 9th you go toward the club house but there is no sign directing you. The same after the 11th, you go past the club house, but it is not until you reach the club house that you see the sign directing you under telegraph to the 12th.

Good Course

Took the fiance and mother-in-law to this course. I thought it was a very well kept course with some great views. The course was not very difficult being a par , but was great practice for selecting to correct club to make the green. The course was slow during the front 9 because of a group of kids getting lessons. however, it opened up after the 9th. I plan to play this course at least once a year for now on. The only downside was all the footgolf. Made the course feel cheaper, so far I am not a fan. I would prefer if the footgolf holes were not so close to the greens.
