Arrowhead Golf Course
Played On 12/11/2018Interesting pin placements
I play this course often and put up some of my better scores here. Our foursome noticed pin placements on some of the rolling porations of the greens or closer to water than usual which added a bit more challenge to the course. The course is in very good condition and the greens were faster than usual. The pace of play was over four hours as our group was behind two twosome. I don’t know if pairing them up would have sped things up. The marshals are usually relaxed but we felt rushed from the groups behind us. Bought beers at the turn but the kitchen was closed at 3:30. The bar/restaurant staff seemed frazzled and not overly friendly. Arrowhead is a good well maintained course but keep in mind golf is expensive in season in Naples
High end southwest Fl. Course
Bring your A game or lots of balls. Water and hazards everywhere. You will be penalized for mistakes off the tee. The greens were readable fair and quick. If you can get on for a good price which can happen in the off season you should have a good experience even with a high score
San Carlos Golf Club
Played On 02/17/2018Great Deal
First time at San Carlos. The staff was very friendly. Received a great in season hot deal Golfnow booking. Winter golf in Naples isn’t cheap. The course is in very good condition. The greens were a little tricky and surprisingly slow considering how little rain the area has. This tells me they water well. The course plays long. They don’t have a lot of hazards so course length is the challenge. The course layout was fair and concisely laid out. It is located in a residential neighborhood surrounded by houses. The neighborhood is a little beat up. If you can get on for under $50 in season you’re getting a good deal.
St. Marlo Country Club
Played On 08/02/2014A great deal for under $50
The layout of this course is great. It is challenging and a little long if you don't pick your tees correctly. There are a lot of up hill and down hill holes. If you walk this course you should be a goat. There aren't a lot of flat spots after the tee boxes so be careful of uneven stances. The neighborhood surrounding the course is beautiful. The overall course condition is good but not great. The great prices available on line make you think they may have some cash flow problems. The staff is knowledge friendly and accommodating. I will play here the next time I'm in the area
St. Marlo Country Club
Played On 08/02/2014Great country club feel
The layout of this course is excellent. Beautiful homes line the sloping and rolling fairways. We played from the blues and the feel was a little longer than I expected. Your 4 and 5 irons and fairway woods will get a work out. The course was in good shape but worn in places. The greens were recently punched but even so were not in great shape.
Every course seems to have a unique challenge. Because St. Marlo's both rolled and sloped you had many fairways and most roughs where you could not get an even stance. I liked the course and if you get on for under $50 I feel your getting bargain
Park Hill Golf Club
Played On 06/23/2014Surprise free time on a business trip
The course lacked a water hazard and was in good shape with well maintained greens. Difficulty was found on the tight fairways and punishing thick rough. It is a good public course close to downtown Denver. The pro shop discouraged use of Golfnow but the price was better than the published rate. I rented clubs, new Taylormade's but at $35 I found the price a shade high.
South/East at Spanish Wells Country Club
Played On 3/15/2013Fun course, some tricky feature, big rewards for short straight hitters
I've played here a few times and the course has always been in great shape. The pace of play is fantastic. Even in season it doesn't seem busy. I played as a single and had the course to my self. Under $ 60 was a great deal. It is not an easy place to play. It is a short layout with a few dog legs and long par 3s with water to carry. If you play from the blues or whites you don't need the driver very often. Mistakes will be punished by low lying palms, foliage and water. Even medium distance hitters can play from the golds but you better drive straight.
Arrowhead Golf Course
Played On 11/14/2012Lots of water
I play here often. Water is in play on every hole. Outside of that the course is wide open and fair. Pick your tees. The blues aren't to long. The whites give you a variety of 2nd shots on the par 4s. Number 7 and 3 require some choices and are fun to play. The layout makes 5 and 13 and 6 and 12 seem like the same holes. They have recently seeded the entire course. The fairways play slow so you don't get a big roll and the greens are very slow. The course is in good shape and the marshalls are on the ball and let you skip a hole and come back if you have a slow group in front
Oakhaven Golf Club
Played On 10/2/2012Many Positives
This is an above average Central Ohio course. It is well maintained and challenging. The front nine gives you the opened farmland country course Ohioans should be very familiar with, long if you play from the blue tees but playable. The hazards are fair and straight shots and course management are rewarded.
The back nine are a little different. Things tighten up. The fairways are narrower and the water and trees more pronounced. The back nine requires concentration. Your not going for as many big drives. It is time to be accurate.
The greens are harder to read
St. Andrews Golf & Country Club - Joe Jemsek Course
Played On 09/25/2012Pleasant afternoon of golf
Very enjoyable place to play in the suburbs. We were in town for the Ryder Cup (such a U.S.golf traversty) and found St. Andrews. The course was forgiving but not easy. Some length, a bit of water and large trees made things interesting. It is an older course with a friendly unassuming staff. The unpretentious public course was well maintained. It felt like a Chicago deal for under $40
