Good course

The course was well maintained, the fairways were green and mowed, the bunkers had quality sand and were groomed, the greens were a little long and tended to be slower than expected. The staff was helpful until the end and we were informed that everything was closed for a private party, the bar should always be open for an after round beverage and chance to wind down.

Beautiful course on a great day

The course was in excellent condition, the fairways were well manicured, the greens wee consistent and even, and the sand was in great shape. Nothing at all to complain about while out on the course. They could add at least one additional beverage cart, the staff was friendly but when you only see the cart twice during 18 holes you get thirsty. They had plenty of business to justify two or even three beverage carts. The staff were generally friendly but there was no bag service at the drop, no movement of bags to carts and we had to seek out staff to find out timetable for our actually teeing off. But this is a great course and can only be made better with a few tweaks.

My favorite trio of courses

As always the course was in incredible shape, fairways and greens well groomed, rough was long and treacherous and sand was fluffy and light. I always play at least one round at Paiute when i visit Las Vegas and this this time it was just as great as always.

Course maintenance needs improvement

Pros: The course looks beautiful, interesting holes, friendly staff, reasonable cost, excellent carts with GPS, and a good pace of play. The holes are challenging, provide numerous different looks and yet require you to play within your game in order to stay out of trouble. A good feel.
Cons: No sand in bunkers, they literally felt like hitting off concrete, had to take drops rather than damage our clubs (totally unacceptable for a quality course), the greens were in horrible shape, not cut, very slow and certainly not up to resort quality golf, the driving range is nothing but desert and what appear to be painted greens, install and maintain fairway grass on the range. Finally it would be very nice to get a beverage on the course, the beverage cart only came by twice with the first time being just after we started the round. Beverage carts pay for themselves especially at a resort course so cater to your customers.

The only better Las Vegas courses are Snow and Wolf here at Paiute

I have played this course over the last 15 years at least a couple of times each year. I travel six hours to get here and play and I am never disappointed. The fairways are always in great shape, the rough is rough but always in good shape. The greens are fair and fast. Stay out of the desert it is not any fun, besides your score goes up.

Not worth the money

The course was not in good condition. The greens were slow, the fairways had some spots. The rough was inconsistent. Overall when I pay a premium price I expect to get a premium course. I played it 5-6 years ago and it was much better, but this time it left a lot to be desired. I played three other courses on this trip and this was my least favorite despite being the most expensive (by double the price of the others).

Course needs some work

The prior time I played Tuscany was in April 2014, and it appears as a very nice course within a gated housing development. The Clubhouse is temporary and very basic, no frills. The course itself is layer out nicely with a variety of challenges, nothing to great but no gimmees either. The sand both times has more dirt than sand and is compacted making it difficult to work with. The greens in April were more consistent, but three days ago they were slow, difficult to read because of the speed and needed some care. My group will be looking for another course other than Tuscany for our next trip.

Best course in Las Vegas area

All three of the Paiute courses are always in great shape and very playable for all skill levels. The staff takes care of you and always provides a friendly atmosphere and encouragement. Each course requires that you stay in play and the desert can be disastrous but if you take it easy you will have one of the best days of golf ever.

Everything was great

I have played all the courses at Paiute and they are always in excellent condition and the Wolf was no exception. I say this even though the greens had just been aerated and had a lot of sand on them (the price was reduced and so everyone had fair warning what the conditions were) Despite this everything was in good shape and the staff is always helpful and friendly.

No control over pace of play and sand was in horrible condition

We have two groups in front of us playing very slow and there were no marshals on the course to move groups along. We could not play through (although we jumped one group when they stopped at the turn) but the place continued just as slow with the group in front of them, there were two open holes in front of them and we could not play through.
Second issue was the sand on the course, I played the Lakes course and the sand was as hard as the cart paths, could not penetrate and the bounce on the club bounced off a solid surface resulting in skulling shots, reverted to using 9 iron to pick balls off, the sand needs to either be replaced or worked extensively to allow it to be playable.

Extraordinary Course

I have played at Paiute for over ten years, going two to four times per year and playing two days each time. Usually I will also play a third day at a different course and each time i wish that I had just gone back to Paiute and hadn't bothered trying another course. The course is fair, but makes you hit your shots and keep it straight. There is wind most days but that just adds to the course. If you have problems with wind or or not hitting it straight, keep to a course which is protected and has wide fairways and lots of open rough on each side. Cannot beat the views, the clubhouse and restaurant are fabulous and the people could not be better.
