Booked a tee time on Golf now, as a single, arrived 1 hour before tee time, checked in with starter and pro shop. I was told I would be part of a 3 some playing at my selected tee time. I was then told that the 3 some was actually a 4 some, they moved my tee time to 15 min later, again with another 3 some, only for the said 3 some to be another 4some. I booked 6 days prior used Golf Now app. I was told it could be a full hour to 2 hours before I could play. Again I booked on Golf Now 6 days before, after a 30 min discussion was finally told the course would give me a rain check for the round.

If you have heard of Lost Ket, then you are aware of the its unofficial name: Lost Ball!! Super tight fairways, no bail outs, tee game must be presice. I enjoy the challenge, yet on this trip the course was in sub standard condition compared to the other courses in the area. Thin greens, spotty fairways, and worn out tee boxes. The bunkers almost seemed to have too much sand if thats posible. I did play Lost Key in the fall and the course was in better shape, I still highly recommend if you are in the area.

If there’s a negative it would be on this day, the greens where running slow compared to some of the courses in the area. To be honest it looked like a 10yr old cut them in the dark. With that said I’ve never seen them like this before so maybe it’s a just a one off. Fun course, nice mix of holes, that you have to play a strategic shot off the tee, too just letting one fly.

Playing in front of a couple of 5 somes, seems to be the norm in lower Alabama as I have encountered this at most of the clubs I’ve played.
Plenty of elevation change, greens are decent speed. It’s just the pace of play lowers the rating.

Biggest issue I have is with green complexes and tee boxes. First the greens. Most of the greens are built into side of hills that have zero flat spots, keeping the ball below the hole is paramount. If you leave above the hole stopping your putt or chip is practically impossible, hole 2, 9 and 14 are great examples of this. You must know where to miss. Tee boxes, all par 3 tee boxes where indistinguishable from my own lawn which I mow at 3 inches, ok I did exaggerate but hitting flyers was the norm on par 3’s. Fairways where manageable as was the rough. Hope so his helps the next group.
