Shining Mountain Golf Club
Played On 07/04/2018Great Value
Challenging Course with narrow fairways and little room for error. Driver is not always the best club choice. Fairways were in average shape. Greens were bumpy and putting was close to impossible. Your ball would suddenly jump 2 inches off course, there were large divots that no one repaired. Back 9 is beautiful, but smells like sewage around hole 15. Driving range was in terrible shape and you cannot hit anything more than a hybrid because of it's short yardage and facing the highway. If you are looking for food at the turn, better call ahead. This was the third time that the bar and grill had only one person working. Overall a great value course, just don't expect prestigious conditions. We will continue going back once or twice a year, just with lower expectation.
Shining Mountain Golf Club
Played On 04/16/2017Remote, Wilderness Course nestled in a landscape of Beauty
What a fun course. Greens were challenging, with most pin locations crested upon the highest point of the green. Hard to read the break. Expect you and your gear to be covered in dust after your round - no paved cart path, but maintained well. Course layout forces the player to use strategy to stay out of the Marsh and wooded areas. Driver was not always the best choice. Par 3's were long. Can't wait to golf here again once it gets warmer! Just don't order a hot dog at the turn. Took 35 minutes to get a Dog and Brat at the turn. Staff was super nice though and offered us drinks for our wait.

I couldn't find anything wrong with this course even if i tried. Superb! Granted, I went during off season when affordable.
Staff was fantastic. Course Layout made each and every hole exciting!
There are multiple holes with extreme elevation changes.
Bunkers were soft and plentiful.
I want to go back again and again. You have to try this course!
Pine Creek Golf Club

This course never disappoints me. Bunkers are soft, fairways are forgiving. Greens have just the right amount of break and challenge. Carts have club and ball washers built into them. The staff even gave us a cooler to keep our drinks cold. I come back here time and time again for a reason.

Applewood Golf Course

Not bad for $40. Club house needs an update. Bathrooms were in serious need of TLC. Carts were older, but worked fine. Driving range was subpar with horrible grass to hit off. Tee boxes need an uplift. Cart path was in need of grading and paving. Had some nice views and a few really great holes.
Hey "pkloska23" thank you so much for the positive review! We really appreciate all of the kind words about the course and are glad that you had a fantastic time out there! Come see us again soon.
