One of the better public courses in the Port Arthur/Beaumont area

For the money, there is no better course to play than Henry Homberg. I live closer to other courses, and I will make the drive here to play. Conditions are rough in the summer heat of southeast Texas no matter where you play, but the staff at Homberg keeps the course presentable and playable no matter what.

Provides a very unique experience

This was my first time out to Tour 18 and I was impressed. The course was near perfect. The fact that you can play so many world famous holes right near home is an incredible selling point for this venue. The price we paid was ridiculously cheap. All around I am very satisfied with this experience.

Not bad as a hot deal

The bunkers here are terrible. Most of them played like very hard dirt. Everything else was about what I expected, having played the course a few times before. There are rock-hard fairways in many spots and small, elevated greens that require the ability to put spin on your wedges if you're chipping from near the green. It's not a terrible course for the money, but as others have said the clubhouse is in bad shape, and they don't really have food beyond chips and candy bars. Just be aware of these things if you decide to play here.
