If you're looking for a reasonable pace of play, don't come here... just finished a round of 05:15 . Painful...and it was Wednesday. No marshalls in sight.

The course setup is challenging from the back tees, and the course is in decent shape, the greens are above average condition.

I would play here again if it weren't so slow, but this is my fourth time and never had a round under four hours. Heck, I'd be happy with 4.5, but over 5 hours seems to be the norm.

I was first off and found myself dodging course maintenance workers once I got to the back nine... 17 and 18 had new holes cut with no cup, this was my only gripe.

I played bayonet, it was a fun challenging track but forgiving as long as you play from the correct tees.

Definitely a must play track if you are in the Monterey area. I also played del monte, spyglass, and pacific grove on this trip. All are quality courses but the value of bayonet is unbeatable.

Beware, early morning tee times come with fog. You'd better be a straight hitter or be real good about the trajectory of your ball. Sometimes it's foggy all day . It just adds to the challenge.
