Strawberry Farms Golf Club
Played On 03/22/2022Not sure why this course normally has such expensive tee times?
We had a nice round. We were paired with another couple. We never had to wait (Tuesday at 3pm tee time). The 3-some behind us was typically on our tails pretty quickly, even though we weren't incredibly slow.
The back nine is much more challenging than the front. It is picturesque back there-----I caught myself wishing that I was walking the trails and hiking instead.....there is amazing wildlife/birds throughout the entire back side. Along with a beautiful water feature near the end.
Never had a cart girl. Starter was friendly enough. There wasn't good signage, no ball washers, and it was difficult to know where to bring our cart afterwards.....it's a large parking lot, hard to find your car if you're not familiar, so it would be nice if carts were allowed in the lot. I understand the safety concern, but it's a bit far to lug your clubs afterwards.
We had a special rate of $52. I can't imagine having to pay much more than that for this course. Maybe if it previously had pristine fairways, etc....but obviously COVID and the drought have taken it's toll. The fairways are OK.... the roughs are rather ragged and weedy. But at least you don't lose your ball often if you miss the fairway into the rough.

Played On 01/31/2022Nice course for all skill levels!
Pretty course..... fairways in nice condition.... a couple of decent photo ops.... very busy driving range....
TAKE FOOD---If you don't get food upon arrival, you may go hungry! There is no food shack on the turn and you don't turn at the clubhouse on this links course! There is currently only 1 cart girl with beverages and sandwiches who has to service both the Resort and Legends course

Played On 09/24/2020Barely even a golf course :(
I'm so sad to see how bad this course has become :(
Even considering COVID cost issues for courses, this is even beyond imaginable. We played in the summer season the last 2 years and watched it getting progressively worse. But truly, this is not really a golf course anymore if it weren't for having the "cut out" of a course. Such a shame, because this is such an awesome layout and old, mature course that can be so fun to play when it's playable.
Currently almost all of the tee boxes are burned out...no grass. Along with large segments of most greens that are bare, brown, no grass.
We saw 2 high school teams/buses come to drop dozens of kids off to play around 4pm. So I presume most of the income is currently from lessons and these team payments?
Really wish this course could get bought out and refurbished back to what a phenomenal course it was years ago.....There is barely any value in playing this course, but my husband and I did still enjoy our round since there was nobody else in front or back of us for all 18 holes. And it was a beautiful fall day to enjoy outdoors together :)

Course was in great shape, except for a few of the bunkers. Always a fun and challenging course. The pace of play and course management has much improved over the past years :)
The Course at Aberdeen
Played On 07/12/2020Really enjoyable round for visitors
This was a beautiful, mature course with great fairways. The tee boxes and sandtraps were in need of maintenance, but during COVID crisis was understandable.
The back nine is more difficult than the front with some "Gimmicky" holes in between.....blind drives with trees in the way and a marshland that blocks your view to even attempt to see where your approach shot landed. Bring extra balls!!
But otherwise, it's a fun course and we'd play again if in the area.
