Golf La Orquidea - White Course
Played On 08/07/2015Hidden Gem
While Buenos Aires has plenty of golf courses to offer La Orquidea is a gem. While most golf courses in the Buenos Aires area charge foreigners exorbitant prices (100 USD) La Orquidea maintains a fair and reasonable green fee. (weekdays 20 USD weekends around 30USD) A forty five minute drive from Buenos Aires it is worth the drive.
The variety of holes and alternate greens the course has varies the challenge every time you play. The first three holes are morale killers, but once you make it through its a fair and wonderful experience. The greens and fairways are always immaculate and the staff is friendly and accommodating. The small owls on holes 8, 13 and 18 are a great addition. The drinks are good with a great wine list, but the main feature is the grill master who is recognized throughout Buenos Aires.

Hard to get on because it's a members only country club but open on certain days to the public. Pack a lot of golf balls because there is a lot of water and a lot of sand. The clubhouse and restaurant are amazing and beautiful.
The course can be frustratingly difficult at times (to me at least. Rumor has it this is where Bill Clinton plays when he is in Buenos Aires.
