Werneth Golf Club
Played On 07/08/2020Better signage needed
Played today for the first time, was quite boggy in places due to the rain we've had recently, but still playable. The greens were the best I've played in quite a while even after all the rain. Better signage is definitely needed on all holes as it can be very confusing. I will be playing again though and would recommend.

Played On 06/23/2019Accident waiting to happen
I first played this course when it was empty months ago and didn't foresee what it would be like on a busy day. From the first hole we felt rushed by players doing the back nine, not helped by pin positions being easier to access on the back 9 giving even less time to get ahead and get into the swing of things and most fairways cross eachother, you share most holes with the back 9 and as an example of danger, the 2nd tee is across the par 5 fairway and over the first green, someone will get injured, I will never go back on a busy day

Played On 04/13/2019Lovely course
I really like this course, the staff are always friendly and helpful and the course has a lot of interesting and deceptive holes,. Rolled quite a few long approaches onto the green from what I thought were bad shots. There are a lot of dog legs with trees so your club selection needs to be spot on to score well. I would recommend to anyone.

Played On 06/11/2018has potential
The members and staff were really friendly and helpful, the course is quite nice, greens very quick, fairways and tee boxes needed cutting though, more like light rough and some of the bunkers require sand, going on for mid June there's no excuse for there being non. Another slightly down point was how close behind the greens some of the tee boxes were, a slightly over hit shot could be dangerous. Finishing up though it was quite a challenging course and I play all over, I got rained off after 9 holes, but will be back soon, if they cut the tee boxes and fairways and fill the empty bunkers this will be a great little course with a friendly welcoming atmosphere.

I played here on Monday, I booked an early tee as I hate queueing, the pace of play was decent, I caught up to a father and son who waved me through (rare these days), the members were friendly, as were the staff, the guy in the pro shop was very helpful, even the green keepers didn't slow down play, again, very rare these days.
Overall the course was in decent condition and enjoyable to play.
I will be going back and I would recommend this course to others.
Hazel Grove Golf Club
Played On 04/09/2018nightmare
Played on here on Monday, all started off OK, a bit slow, but not to bad and then I got to the fourth hole, play had ground to a halt an extremely slow 4 ball holding up the two ball behind them, very frustrating, but that was just the start, I then had 3 ignorant members teeing off while I was waiting to take my second shot, one narrowly missing me and then going for the green with me on it, I was fuming, it was taking 15 minutes a hole because of the four ball. A lot of things happened, two of the temp tees on the back nine were so spongey that when I went to tee off the ball rose up while I sunk and to top things off on the 18th I had a short chip and putt to go, was just about to chip on when the greenkeepers decided to drive on the green rather than wait 30 seconds, there was no one behind me for about 4 holes after I skipped a hole to get in front of the four ball. I had lost all interest by this point, picked up my ball and sarcastically thanked the ignorant greenkeepers, I won't be going back, although not all staff and members are bad, the two members ahead of me were nice blokes and down to earth, shame about the others.
Good morning,
Thank you for your recent review. We do apologise for the pace of play on the day you visited us. As golfers we do rely on the etiquette of others and hope everyone plays within the spirit of the game.
The tee mats have been a necessity throughout the winter months with terrible weather, we were hoping to be back on the grass tees by the end of March but mother nature thought otherwise!
We will mention the incident on the 18th to our green staff to understand why this happened.
We hope to see you again in the summer months. If you would like to discuss this matter further please call James Rowlands
