Played On 07/18/2019Overall, you get what you pay for.
This was a Thursday morning. The course was busy. We arrived thirty minutes ahead of T time. Practice range is pay per bucket. Like $6 for a small bucket, more than enough to get a warm up in. We moved over to the tee box, there was a back up of a good 9 golfers. Our 9:08 start turned into a 9:35 just waiting, and the full round took four hours. Way more time was spent waiting than actually golfing, but maybe it was an off day
Biggest issues: no sand in the shakers, and no refill stations available if you wanted to refill. no beverage cart, which wouldn’t have been that bad if it wasn’t SO hot. Zero shade on the course, and not nearly enough water stations. I think there were two across 18 holes. And finally, NO MARSHALL. Which may be a plus for some. But waiting behind a train of people all day is no fun when one group of 6 is Killing the pace.
The good: the course is a par 64, and actually rather challenging. There are a lot of par threes, and the greens do not make for a lot of easy puts. Most of the holes are shorter, so the old “grab the driver” approach on every par four just doesn’t work. Many of the par fours are 200-250 range and really make you think. The one par five is a blind leg to the left, and can be very punishing if you are too aggressive. It’s a great family course, and the staff in the club house was very friendly and helpful. The place is a great value course.
Advice: if you are a long bomber, you will not love this place, but will appreciate the opportunity to break out those 3 and four irons. Very few holes allow for breaking out a 280+ yard drive shot. If your drive is a very consistent 230-250, and you thrive in the short game, you will dominate. If you are looking for a challenging, fun course on a budget, you will love it.
