Was able to get in a round on this course during a week's vacation in the area. Everything was great including the 3 people within whom I was grouped.

Of the courses I can play around Charlotte, Rocky River and Edgewater are my favorite. Edgewater is twice as far away so if I find a deal at Rocky River I try to jump on it. In addition to the layout and condition of the course I really love the GPS in the carts which allows for better course management. The only improvement I would make would be adding senior tees. There is no set of tees between 4654 and 6028 yards. The former (Burgundy) are essentially the Ladies tees (although diplomatically not labelled such). Even at the shorter tees (which we played) the course can be challenging because of the huge, undulating, and fast greens. Going forward I think I'll try a mix of the White and the Burgundy. In any case I'm sure it will be an enjoyable round.

Although it takes the better part of an hour to get there from my home, the course quality and reasonable price make a round at Edgewater too hard to pass up. The course is always in great shape and as demonstrated during a round a couple weeks back, the drainage is amazing. Add in a set of teams for ever level golfer, and it's hard to beat. Helicopter service is the only improvement I can think of.

I was without my usual playing partners so decided to explore a new course a little farther away from Charlotte but with a very good price. I found a course that was overall the equal to most I play closer to home, but with truly outstanding greens. The greens are very fast, but true. I recommend staying below the hole whenever possible. If you don't mind a bit of a drive on some windy country roads (actually quite pleasant), then I highly recommend this course.

Off the beaten track but a great course at a great value. Only a 100+ heat index put a damper on the round (pun intended). They did have plenty of water jugs on the course, but the heat was oppressive.

The star ratings say it all. This is a beautiful, well maintained course that is generally uncrowded. All these factors lend themselves to a wonderful round of golf. This is also the quietest course I've ever played. That was the experience of our entire foursome during this round. My only regret is that it's not closer to Charlotte.

I found myself with a few more free hours than I was expecting today so I opted to play a round rather than hit the range. I was able to get a discounted same day tee time for 3:30 PM and playing alone, got the round completed in 3 hours. The course is in great shape. Olde Sycamore is one of my top two or three layouts in the area and many of my frequent playing buddies agree. If I play smart and have a decent ball-striking day I can score okay (mid-80's), but there are challenges and erratic shots are penalized. All-in-all it's a fair test on a very nice layout.

This was a fun round playing with my son and two strangers on a very nice course with several very memorable holes. The course was in very good condition with the exception of some bunkers that were in need of sand. There are many very picturesque holes with abundant water challenges presented by the adjoining lake. I wish I could say my play matched the caliber of the course but it wasn't even close. Unfortunately for me, it is not a course that is very forgiving of really poor shots. I do not live in the area, but if I do have an opportunity to play again in the Triad, I would definitely like to have another shot at Oak Hollow.

Very enjoyable round played on a perfect weather day under almost 5 star course conditions. The only less than ideal aspect was the tee boxes, some of which are in very bad shape. However, this seems to be the norm on several of the local courses. On the flip side, the greens were great, the fairways were nicely greened up, and the traps had plenty of sand. Our threesome came in just under 4 hours so the only thing that was not top notch, besides the tee boxes, was my play.

This was my first time playing the Bethlehem Golf Club in probably 25 years. It was in as good a shape as I ever remember it. Now currently residing in NC it was nice playing on bent grass and the condition of all surfaces was great. The weather was great and playing with old friends was special. All in all a wonderful round. The residents of the Lehigh Valley are blessed to have two great municipal courses to play on among the numerous choices in the area.

Another enjoyable round at my favorite course in the Charlotte area. Following some heavy rain in the past week the ground was a bit soft but the greens were fast and the undulations made them especially challenging. They seemed to be in the very late stages of an aeration because there was still a bit of sand on them. Otherwise the course condition was excellent as I've always found it to be. One of the best things about Rocky River is the carts which have touch screens that really help with course management. Staff is always helpful. The course is a bit pricier, but when I save up some GolfNow credits Rocky River is where I like to play.

This was the third time I played the course in recent weeks and I really enjoy it. There are several courses in the Charlotte area that I actually prefer to Fort Mill, but of late those courses have not been offering the kind of deals that fit into my budget. As long as that's the case, I'm more than willing to fall back to Plan B and play Fort Mill. The course is in very good shape, the practice facilities are great, and the staff is very friendly. I like the layout for its diversity and love the Senior Member tees which measure almost exactly 6000 yards which precisely what this senior is looking for. I definitely recommend.

This was the first time in years that I played this course which was one of my most frequently played courses in my first 25 years of golf. There have only been a few changes and I would say they were mostly for the better. The course from tee to green was in good shape. Other than the greens it was a little soft due to abundant rain in the area. The greens were a bit hard and difficult to hold, at least for this group of seniors. Pace of play was good though we were relatively slow due to frequent ball searching. Seemed like we were the only foursome on the course. We let several twosomes play through. Blustery conditions aside, it was a fun round played with old friends on an old friend.

This was the first time I played the course in several years, and it remains the fun and varied layout that made it one of my favorites back when. It is in okay shape for March. The greens were in good shape but the fairways and tee boxes were not quite as good as some of the other local public courses I've recently played. However, I'm sure I'll be back again when the real spring arrives.

We drove over from Charlotte to see whether the excellent reviews we'd heard were merited. I would say they were spot on, including the disclaimer that right now the greens are not in great shape. In spite of this I enjoyed the course which, from the Gold tees, is a nice test of my current game. Once new greens have been installed (over the summer), I'll be up anxious to make the occasional road trip. Beyond the greens, the course was in good shape for the time of year. It's an enjoyable layout and the courtesy and friendliness of the staff is first rate. With the above noted caveat about the greens, I highly recommend this course.

Very enjoyable round of golf played in gorgeous weather, on a well-maintained course, with delightful strangers in mid-January. Yes it was winter so the grass was dormant and the trees were bare, but the greens were excellent, sand in the traps plentiful, and the rough and natural areas cleared out. All this contributed to a fun and speedy (sub 4 hour) round. It didn't hurt that I played much better, too.

Given the time of year and the recent rain, the course seemed to be in great shape. Play was a little slow, but not unbearable.

This was the first visit to the course for any of our threesome and the rave reviews we had gotten from friends were well-founded. Similarly, the recent reviews that had been posted were spot on. The course was in great shape with the possible exception of the bunkers, many of which are in need of more sand. For what it's worth, Edgewater may be the quietest course I've ever played. If there's one category to be singled out as most excellent (forgive my grammatical incorrectness), it would be Staff Friendliness. These folks really go out of their way to ensure you have the best golf experience possible. I recommend the course highly and will definitely return when another opportunity presents itself.

We started on the back nine and had a great round going that was unfortunately cut short by heavy rain at the turn. Given the lack of rain (at least in South Charlotte), I thought the course was very lush and in overall great condition. The greens were super. I am a 19 handicap who has recently been playing my best golf in years. This round I avoided trouble including the rough which is very thick in many areas. I can only comment on the back nine, but I would rate this as one of the best public courses in the area. It's usually priced out of my budget, but on this occasion Golfnow had a great deal. Hopefully I'll come across another and get to play the whole course. Highly recommended.
