Rio Pinar Golf
Played On 12/28/2020Temporary Tee Boxes
They were overseeding the tee boxes so we played from temporary tees. It was ok but not the same challenge and really hard to tell where you stood after the round.
Grass in the fairway is still a bit sparse. Never has been lush like an Eagle Creek or Shingle Creek. Greens rolled true and were quick.
Carts are old and gas powered. They really should put up distance stakes if they aren’t going to add GPS to the carts.
Didn’t see a beverage cart and the guys in the pro shop hardly acknowledged you.
Golf Now should add features for courses to advise when they have punched the greens or are playing from temporary tees.
Overall it looks like they are trying to make a number of improvements. I will give them credit for that as many courses in FL go unmaintained.
Koasati Pines At Coushatta

Cool damp day after several days of rain. Cart path only.
Essentially had the course to ourselves. Staff seemed to be pre-occupied in pro shop and at grill, even though we were the only customers in the building. Pro shop didn’t have a shopping bag on hand after making a small purchase.
Overall course is a great layout and I can’t wait to play when it’s warmer and with no cart restrictions.
Golf Club of Houston - Tournament Course
Played On 12/20/2018Great day considering it was Dec 20th !
Booked a two some with a rental set and forecaddie a week in advance. Before 11 a forecaddie is mandatory. At 11 or after it was optional and we wanted the advantage of course knowledge. I was advised when I called by the pro shop that they don’t really have stiff shaft rentals available. I was told at check in that they had one set but it was in use. This was a bit of a surprise and somewhat disappointing.
Forecaddie was friendly and energetic. He is a traveler yet he had pretty good course knowledge and really read greens well. That alone saved several strokes between my partner and me. I would recommend Rob to anyone.
Greens were in good shape and rolled quick. The fairways had a lot of soggy spots and we were limited to cart path only. The bunkers were raked well but seemed to be packed down. I had a more difficult time getting out of sand traps than I normally do.
The last 3 holes are wide open and it was a very gusty day of golf. With 35+ mph winds the last 3 holes were brutal. Overall a very good day.

I had a 4 hour window to hit some golf balls. 20 min drives each way and a sub-3 hour round was perfect for me. Course traffic was down, so this enabled me to get off to a fast start that I hardly had to alter.
This course is a great layout with plenty of challenges. The sand traps could use some work, but that's the same with most courses at the moment. We've been getting to much rain.
Overall a great value and a good round of golf.
Old South Golf Links

I got a super foursome rate on Golfnow. The course was in beautiful shape. Green and fairways were in really nice shape. Some of the tee boxes were crowned and a little troublesome. Two holes have near 90 degree doglegs. Without GPS and hole layouts, these were tough to play for a newcomer. The course has generous drop areas to make up for it. Overall a great round of golf.
Eagle Creek Golf Club
Played On 06/30/2014After 5pm special
A co-worker and I grabbed the after 5 special. The course was nearly empty as a stormed had passed earlier clearing the crowd out. The only problem was that the storm left a lot of water, so somoe of the fairways were extremly soggy as well as the cart path low points.
Otherwise, it was a great round and would have been 5 stars. Weather was terrific. They just took delivery of new electric golf carts yesterday and the new cart was spunky!
Called the restaurant before teeing off on #8 to pick up the $5 cheeseburger special at the turn. Hard to beat it.
Overall a great value for the price that we paid.
Grande Pines Golf Club
Played On 8/8/2013Well maintained and a good value
The greens were a little sandy, as they were aerated a month ago. I was expecting them to be pristine, however they were still pretty good. Friendly staff. Shower/change facilities were clean. Pro-shop has some good sale items. Nice rental club set, Rocket Balls Stage 2. The only real disappointment was that the club did not have a beverage cart in operation during the afternoon. This is almost criminal in August in central FL. Instead you had to get refreshments from the bar or food service counter inside the clubhouse. Unfortunately both times we went inside there was a line 4-5 deep as the person working was somewhere in the back and not aware of the growing population. Cups/Ice/Water shoud be more readily available at the starter's station. He had ice.
Thank you for playing Deltona Golf Club! We appreciate your feedback and are happy you enjoyed your round. Due to the heavy rains recently in our area the bunkers will have some recovery time, but overall the course is in great shape and we hope you come back and play again soon!
