Dancing Rabbit Golf Club - The Azaleas
Played On 08/01/2023Superb layouts
Both courses are spectacular. The Azaleas so beautiful it is justly called, "the Augusta you can play." The Oaks is definitely the more difficult, although both are hard. The greens had recently been aerated and heavily sanded and were thus *super* slow, but the fairways and tees were tip-top. Just from a visionary standpoint, among the two best-looking, remarkable courses I've played.
Windance Country Club
Played On 06/02/2019Fabulous shape
The course is in superb, flawless shape. Greens super fast and true - it's tournament condition. Played twilight round; great value, great pace. One of the best, most enjoyable rounds I've had in almost 40 years of golfing on Mississippi Gulf Coast. Par 5s, particularly on the back, extremely challenging - they narrow a lot and while reachable in two with a really good drive, it has to be perfect second, and even laying up is hard because of shrinking space. Terrific golfing experience.
Regatta Bay Golf & Yacht Club
Played On 08/18/2018Superb course; Cadillac experience
Regatta Bay is even better than I remembered it from a decade ago. The course was in outstanding shape; demanding without being outrageously difficult. The fairways in particular were world class. Excellent practice facilities, a very reasonably priced breakfast, and distance screens in the carts that worked flawlessly. Highly, highly recommended.
Club at Hidden Creek, The
Played On 08/12/2018Terrific course; odd setting
If you only come here for golf, you'll be thrilled. While there seemed something odd about the neighborhood, the probably too big and bizarrely designed clubhouse, the course is first rate. Someone else here said this would be well over $100 if it was on the coast and that's correct. The greens rolled beautifully and fast just a couple of weeks after getting punched; fairways were excellent. The layout - especially 7 through 18 - was outstanding. The holes on the back 9 have a beautiful flow, the trees are cool, etc. Put simply, the golf course is absolutely first class and deserves to be played. Staff was very friendly and courteous.
Dancing Rabbit Golf Club - The Azaleas
Played On 07/04/2018Superb track
Several years ago I played The Oaks course and thought it one of the prettiest courses I'd ever played - and everyone told me The Azaleas was even better. So when traveling on the 4th and finding a tee time at The Azaleas for the astonishing price of $35, I signed up.
Am I glad I did. Now, probably because it was the afternoon of July 4th, I was about the only person on the course. This allowed me to take my time, take lots of pictures, putt again after misses, etc. The course was nothing short of spectacular. While a couple of the par 3s looked the same (long, uphill, curving right to left), I did not find the fairways unduly narrow or the rough U.S. Open-like, as some other reviewers mention.
The range is great, but I only had a chance to hit a few balls, and I didn't spend any time in the Pro Shop, either, which is why I rated them 4 stars instead of 5. Overall, though, Dancing Rabbit is spectacular. Highly, highly recommended.
