Do Not Play the Sr Tees. Enjoy a Tough but fair Course!!

A Very Fair and Challenging Course! As a Resort Course it is what you want,! You will not get beaten up by rough or Greens as Fast as Oakmont or Augusta. As a 8/ 9 Handicap I had to play solid to a slope of 138!from the Blue Tees! Go Play and Enjoy!!

The Bermuda Rough is too Fluffy and Deep for the average resort Golfer! Needs cut! Also you must play the proper tees because with little or no roll in the fairways second shots are long into the par 4’s. Arthur Hill Courses are Punishing in all respects. Play UP like Jack Nicklaus urges! One more thing, a layout of the course on a sheet or scorecard is needed. Going in Blind is Very Difficult!

This is a Very Nice Course!! Fast and Firm Greens, lots of character from tee to Green with Doglegs left and Right. Old School characteristics like bouncing balls into Greens, like British Open Courses! Different and A Test!!

No Complaints in this Challinging time of the Wuhan Virus. The Traps or former Grass Mud areas take away from a Very Nice Tee, Fairway, Green Experience! Overall an Enjoyable Day thou!!!!!

Being from Pa. we traveled 75 miles to play on ANY type of ground! It has a lot of potential! The Back 9 is tight and lots of trees and woods. The Greens were a 8 out of 10 for conditions and putted True! With some TLC it is pretty darn good for the price! By no means it at a Championship layout but you can have a lot of fun there!

Not being negative but the course is somewhat hilly not unlike most Western Pa courses. A 3:40 tee time with heat index near 100 was perfect for playing Golf with Few on the course. Enjoyable, Forgiving but if you get out of position Tough! Greens were very good. Not fast, Not slow. Go play it and pick a tee box that give you a challenge. Got that Senior tee fans!

You want a Challenge? You want Great Conditions? Nowhere is it better than Champion Lakes ! Tough, Fair and Classic old style course! I have no idea how we played there 35 40 years ago. Today the Greens are Super fast and the slopes are tough unless under the hole. To play well you better be at your best or just drink beer and take in the Great View! Buckle up!

Fathers Day Golf. Great Greens, Prepared Bunkers and Very Nice Fairways. Cart paths are not good but who cares. If this continues for course conditions, I will go back many more times!!

Yes it is early but the Golf Course was very playable if you played winter rules. The Greens were Good and rolled well. Tee boxes fine but traps/bunkers were bad. Nobody had touched them but again early! Most public courses ignore the bunkers and this is too bad! I guess it is a manpower issue. The man in the Golf Shop was super friendly. He is not the Pro but the this course like most public courses does NOT need PGA affiliated Pro’s. If they keep up with things it is worth a return trip or 2! Hope they cut the Fairways soon!

Greens a bit spotty but it is October 10th. The Traps needed attention from the Grounds crew, but it is October! It was obvious that not many people work on the course now... but it’s October! It is a Very Good Course but...it is October!

The Greens did not hold shots unless you could really spin the ball. Ball marks and pitch marks were numerous because people ignored fixing them!

First of all, after arriving after a morning rain storm I can tell you that I was not very welcomed at the course. Maybe they really don't want anybody from Golf Now, I don't know. Well finally I got some real conversation about the course. I got the Keys and off I went. Surprisingly the Greens and fairways were pretty good. Actually the Greens were Very Good. They held and putted true! No Complaint! On the second or third hole I finally saw the main problem at this course! Horrible Horrible Bunkers that have not been worked on in YEARS! I was in one....Totally unplayable! The worst I have ever seen in Western Pa Public Golf! They need to take care of them OR remove them! A Cancer to be sure. If I had members of my Golf League there to play,they would think this was a joke the conditions of the Bunkers. Word of mouth would KILL this place. Somebody does not get it,that whatever dollars you pay to play, you deserve decent conditions, NOT Country Club but Good playable traps! That is What a Golf Couse is supposed to be and what the buyers of time on the course deserve! This place has a neat layout That demands shotmaking even at 5400 yards. Fix the Bunkers, Get a Better Attitude and TRY to attract players! They might be surprised to find that a short well maintained course can and will attract players other than the regulars that accept mediocrity! Maybe the Owners better take a Good Look at themselves and decide whether they want IN or Out of the business. Let somebody Lease the property to turn it around. Because this is the way we have done it for 50 years does not mean it is right!

This course is old school! Small old fashioned bunkers and tree lined but plenty of room to roam. The blind shots can be overcome but probably need to play this course a few times. Cart paths bad but who cares! Conditions are Very Good! Go Play it!

Blue tees challenge the Low handicapper and the white tees are Good for even the higher single digit golfer. A LOT of potential for sure. Please fix the unplayable mud/dirt bunker on the 10th hole! It reeks of Bad course maintenance . Bottom line.......Good to Very Good!

Just a bit closer cut on the greens and This course would be Very Good! Not Oakmont fast but faster please! Enjoyable round!

My review is entitled WHY? Why do they not water the greens? Why do they not water the fairways? Why do they not have smooth surfaces to putt on? Why did they destroy the 4th and 5th holes with some amateurish new designs? Well the answer must be obvious. Lack of money and lack of caring. Also WHY would they send people out in front of us as we made the turn? Sending out a group of 4 then a twosome as we were playing the 9th hole was rude and ignorant. We received a raincheck from the young man in the clubhouse. The place could be nice but....Too bad for the old Alcoma CC, it ain't what she used to be by a LONG SHOT!
