Golden Bear Golf Club at Indigo Run
Played On 06/02/2018Cavalier Unprofessional Attitude.
First we had to unload our clubs...no biggie but...
We got off on time with good pace of play.
BUT when we got to the Tenth tee they had inserted a 3 some group on the tee in front of us.!!! When we objected the pro shop pretended they knew nothing about it. !!!and did nothing. Of course this seriously disturbed our pace of play. (And all others behind us). The offending 3 some group clearly knew that they had been “naughty”. After 3 holes they disappeared... Too late the damage was done.
What a way to run a professional golf course.
Finally, after tipping the bag guy he watched as we loaded our clubs into the car.
If you want to sample golf unprofessionalism at its best...this is the place for you.
You have been warned!!!
Esplanade Golf and Country Club of Naples
Played On 01/09/2016A decent public course in the Naples area. But...
A decent golf course. Staff not particularly friendly. Club house under construction. Unfortunately they allowed 6 foursomes in a tournament out at prime time on a Saturday. This caused serious slow play affecting the tempo of our game. The marshal was very apologetic but did not improve the pace of play, spoiling our experience.
EagleVail Golf Club
Played On 07/10/2015A challenging gem.
If you like challenges and measured accurate shot production requirements this is the course for you. However, as an example the 16th hole green is diabolical ...my second shot into this green was pin high. Yet the ball hesitated then very slowly started rolling backwards picking up speed into a bowl then continuing over a wall and into a stream. Don't ask what I said...
Royal Links Golf Club
Played On 06/16/2015What a pleasant surprise
We are familiar with links courses in the British Isles. And if you want to experience that thrill this is the place for you....right down to the castle club house. The course setup is eerily realistic right down to those infuriating deep bunkers in the middle of the fairway. And if you stray into the deep rough forget it. If you want to get a taste of Chambers Bay the site of the U.S. Open this year this is the place for you. Only one differences...the weather...when we played it hovered around 100°. You won't find that in the UK. But a great experience nevertheless.
Shadow Ridge Golf Club
Played On 05/06/2015Experience not up to expectations.
Staff were surly. Practice area was in exceptionally poor condition. Definatily the course was not manicured and in shabby condition compared to other better courses in the area. Try those courses and give this a miss.
Pine Barrens at World Woods Golf Club
Played On 03/16/2015If Pine Barren had glory...it is now former.
Fortunately we got a golfnow price otherwise we would have been quite unhappy. First it's a long drive from anywhere to get to World Woods. So it has to be worth it right. The practice area was atrocious. We had to hit off bare sand..no grass. We don't expect opulence in clubhouses but this place was just tired. The dining room is more like a cafeteria. On the good side the course was demanding with treachous greens. One quirk generally you don't rake waste bunkers of which there are many but it's sometimes difficult to distinguish between the waste and regular bunkers here. Consequently the regular bunkers go unraked causing difficult situations. Just saying.
Legacy Golf Club
Played On 03/09/2015A tough course even for Arnie.
Better bring your game and lots of golf balls. It's a precision course and may even be a bit unfair. The first five water holes can be exasperating especially if its your first outing like ours. "Unfair" in the sense that most fairways are sloping. so that a straight shot down the middle can find the water or bunker unless you can either draw or fade the ball. Only try this course if you are a serious Arnie fan or a masicust. Suggest not for the faint of heart, beginners, or vacationers like us.
Sanibel Island Golf Club
Played On 03/06/2015If you have the urge to play golf this place is perfectly adequate.
Don't want to leave Sanibel Island. Don't want to fight the traffic. Don't want to pay exobitent prices. Then Sanibel golf course could be the place for you.
We enjoyed the course even though it is short... it's actually fun. The staff are courteous and professional. Their restaurant has a reputation for good food. We played here 3 times during our week in Sanibel, a testimony to it's enduring appeal.
We shall return.
Lakewood Country Club
Played On 02/06/2015Sad and Frustrating.
When the starter disappeared we should have realized what the round was going to be like. Wait, wait and more waiting to take a shot. Tees and greens very close together making you constantly looking out for wayward shots. Just too many players for this small piece of land. No rangers. It took over 4 hours to play 3000 yds. And it cost us $45 each for the privilege. This is a glorified pitch and putt not an Executive Course as advertised.
Thank you for the great review! We are so glad you loved our course and felt welcomed by our staff. We can't wait to see you back soon
