Coyote Crossing Golf Course
Played On 04/22/2020Covid Restriction Golf
Drove 2 hrs from IL (courses closed) to play in the Hoosier state. Lots of IL plates in the lot. No club or restroom access so think ahead.. everyone was practicing social distancing, even on the practice green. This is a high quality daily fee course situated in an upscale housing development but at a very reasonable green fee. The course layout is interesting and fun. Some forced carries from the tee were challenging. Pick the right tees for your game or you’ll be frustrated. There are elevation changes which made walking the course tough. Bent grass fairways allow for some roll off the tee. Greed hold well. Speed was slower than they looked. Overall though the Superintendent has done great work for this early in the season. Was worth the drive.
Celebration Golf Club
Played On 04/07/2019Good Day
My son &I had a good day at Celebration GC. Interesting, fun layout that was in good shape with the exception of the tees. Obviously it gets a lot of play but the tees need attention. Friendly staff inside and outside. A better value than others in the area at the same price point.
Forest Park Golf Course - Red Bud
Played On 07/22/2018Interesting Layout
Played early Sunday with my daughter on Redbud/Dogwood routing. The Rebud was the more interesting of the two with some cool holes with elevation changes. The Dogwood was the flatter of the two and wove through marshes and grasses. Zoysia fairways were a plus. Rough was sporadic with multiple types of grass. Greens were fairly slow with numerous ball marks (an expected mini trait
Pevely Farms Golf Club
Played On 07/04/2018Not What it Used to Be
Having played Pevely Farms years ago, I was really looking forward to playing there again. It was a steamy but clear day and the views from the clubhouse were just amazing. Lush green hills everywhere you turned. Checked in at pro shop and the assistant was wick but not very welcoming. We were paired with a couple of local guys who were average players but friendly. Pace of play was fine, 4:15. But stepping up to the first tee, I knew right away that this course has really slipped in its upkeep. The tee was no different than the fairway in grass length with big divots. I’ve played $15 muni courses with better tee conditions. The fairways were inconsistent in length and patchy in places. Greens were a bit better but numerous unfixed ball marks. For a supposedly upscale daily fee course, Pevely Farms was a disappointment.
Ironhorse Golf Course

Interesting links style course. Greens consistent but a bit slow. Water comes into play.
The Phoenician Golf Club
Played On 05/14/2016Fun and fair
First time at PGC. Very fun course. A taste of desert golf but fair and not penal like others I've played. Kind of short but bunkering makes up for it. Got great rate on golfnow.
The Fort Golf Resort
Played On 08/07/2015Hills in the flatland
Gorgeous setting in metro Indy. Hard to fathom the elevation changes in flat corn country but this course reminds you of North Carolina. Another plus is no homes, just golf course. Fairways and bunkers in excellent condition, greens a little beat up, probably from recent rain. Gets a lot of play as well. Played in four hours which sometimes doesn't happen here. Newbies need to play the correct tees...if not, can jam up the whole course.
Lake Isle Country Club
Played On 10/18/2014Fall Trees were scenic
Fairways ok, greens slow, rough hard and patchy grass, pace 4:45, course tight, lots of mature trees....that sums it up.
Brookshire Golf Club
Played On 07/20/2014Golf Now deal
Decided to play after seeing a Golfniw offer the night before. 18 hole fee was $31 with cart. Fairways and greens in best shape I've ever seen here. Bunkers a little ragged around the edges and could use some work. Broken down cart paths are dusty.... Had to wash my bag afterwards. City of Carmel's only city owned course deserves better. Kudos to the greenskeeper however for the fairway and greens condition on an obviously limited budget.
West at Rancho Canada Golf Club
Played On 10/13/2013Interesting layout. Front more wide open. Greens a bit slow.
Saved 45% on standard rate which made it just about right. Would not be happy paying full boat. Lots of pin oaks and sycamores as it's built around the Salinas River. Front nine more open than the back. There were a couple of holes on the back that were ridiculously tight. Greens a bit slow. Fairway conditions were ok but rough was inconsistent. Bunker designs were challenging but need a higher quality of sand.
Golf Club of Indiana
Played On 6/9/2013Need a Ranger
Being a public course, the usual slow play issue arose. The new management needs to address this or they won't get repeat business. Players on the WRONG tees for their skill level means course back ups. Too bad as the course is is better shape than prior years. Firm but smooth greens, tightly mown fairways, and fair rough. Clubhouse has been spruced up and looks good.
