Never a disappointment

I should take the time to write more reviews but this is overdue. Paradise has always been one of my favorite courses. The course is always in great shape, and the staff is friendly, courteous and accommodating. Especially Chris, Brent and Sam at the clubhouse and Kevin in the repair shop are always a pleasant to be around. They are great guys and treat us like family.

We love this place and always feel at home and welcomed.

Great course, Staff made us feel unwelcomed

I have played at this course many times over the last few years but this last visit, the staff made us feel very unwelcomed and consequently, we did not enjoy our round. First, the staff at the clubhouse was less than friendly, no greeting and all business with a straight face. I tried to exchange pleasantries and he didn't even respond, he was curt and told me what I owed and pointed me to the carts. I didn't think much of it and figured he was just pre-occupied.

We then went to the first tee, the starter was the one who ruined our day. He first started by asking if we're from the area. We responded that we've golfed here many times before but that we don't reside in the county. He then proceeded to go on an unfriendly rant about how people not from the county should not be allowed to golf at their golf course, indicating "we don't go golf at other at golf courses out of our county." He then went on to say that it's a shame that over 30% of their golfers recently are from out of the county and that it's making their golf course overcrowded. Finally, he sternly told us, almost in a scolding like fashion, that we need to clean up our cart when we're done. We decided to not say anything and ignore his comments.

We really felt like we weren't welcomed and as if they were doing us a favor. We were pretty upset the rest of the day and did not enjoy our round of golf feeling like we're 2nd class customers. We also decided that we will never visit this golf course again. I've also been telling all my friends about our experience and some of them shared similar experiences at this course.

Perhaps the management team may not care about a single golfer's comment but eventually the number of unhappy golfers will add up and ultimately it will affect their business down the road.

Course with great potential

We decided to give this golf course a try and were booked for a 1200 tee time. Due to the course being extremely crowded, there was a shortage of carts, our tee time got delayed until almost 2 pm. The course needed some maintenance and upkeep and many spots were dirt along the fairway. The staff was friendly and their snack bar was open for take out only. Overall we still had a good time and the cart delay in all fairness, was not really the fault of the golf course.

Once a great course but not anymore

I golfed here years ago and remember thinking that it' was a really nice course where the layout of the course was both challenging and fun. The course condition was also great but I also remembered thinking that the staff was rather curt and because of that, I hadn't returned to this course until just recently, when we decided to give it a try.

Fast forward to Oct of 2019, guess what? the staff was still curt but worse yet, the course condition was horrendous. First the staff, as an example, I saw an employee from the reception area walking by so I asked for directions to the golf pro shop. He paused, with an annoyed look on his face and simply pointed and never said a word, then just walked on by.

Next the course condition. Many parts of the course was soggy, soft and muddy and other parts were bone dry with dirt exposed to include the tee box and many areas around the course. There were some greens that were also like this.. The course was unpredictable because the ball would hit a dirt spot and continue running right off the fairway or green into a hazard; this happened many times throughout the day. Other times, it would hit a soft spot in the fairway and just plug.

The pace of play was excellent because there weren't very many players out there, we played a noon time and we saw only a few groups behind us. It's really a shame because this course was the potential to be a premier golf course but it's just so run down that it's just no fun.

I would not recommend this course and it's not hard to imaging that this course will shut its' doors sooner or later. Lack of maintenance and improper management/staff training leads to less clients and less revenue., Less revenue leads to less maintenance etc etc, it's spiraling out of control.

Beautiful scenic course, terrible course condition

This course has potential to be a top notch course. The stress and scenery is beautiful. Most of the cart path is dirt and gravel, which kicks up tons of dust. The course has no markings or signs to direct golfers from hole to hole and because of the course layout, seemingly carts pop out from everywhere and crossed partially into my fairway. The fairway was dry and alot of bare dirt spots and many areas of the green was sun burned.

The food was barely adequate, not some place that I would eat at again. No cart service.

The Good parts- descent pace of play, rather inexpensive and course layout is kind of fun.

Honestly, I dont think I would okay here again.

A hidden gem of a course

The staff is wonderful and the course is always very well maintained. The tee boxes, fairways and greens are perfect and kept in great condition year round. the course layout is both challenging and forgiving at the same time and alot of fun. I play here regularly a couple times a week and it's one of my favorite courses. Additionally, the prices are very reasonable given the quality of the course. Any comparative private course would easily charge more than double what Rancho normally charges. The only downside is that the course can play very slow on busy days with tournaments and especially on the weekends when the weather is nice but I guess that's expected at any great golf course. Keep up the great work. Thank you

Awesome as usual

Yoche Dehe never disappoints. Truly one of the most pristine golf courses around. The course is always very well maintained and drains exceptionally well. Even after heavy rains, the course wasn't soggy or muddy.

Terrible conditions after seasonal rain

I've played at this course quite a bit but the latest visit was disappointing. We've had an unusually wet winter and the course was in terrible playing condition. This is an old course and it doesn't drain very well. The fairways and rough were very soft and sloppy. Apparently they hadn't mowed in a while because the fairway's grass was about 3-4 inches tall and the rough was 6-8 inches tall. Even balls hit in the fariway were easily lost because of the ball plugging and being concealed by the tall grass. We ultimately quite after playing 2 holes. We won't be going back here until summer arrives.

Excruciating slow pace of play

This course often has tournaments, so your Pace of play will always be slow. I play this course on a regular basis because I like it, but I have never played this course in under 4.5 hours; 5 hours is rather typical. For example took me almost 6 hours to finish 18 today.

Course not very well maintained

At one time this was a tour caliber course which hosted the LPGA for several years but that hasn't happened in 15 years or so. The tee boxes and fairways were extremely dry, with dead grass and bald spots of dirt. The greens were not well maintained and the putting surface was bumpy and uneven (I could see the ball hopping the entire way to the cup). The cart paths from one hole to another was overgrown was 4 feet tall weeds adding to my allergies and the overall unattractive aesthetics of the course. It looks like they rarely water the fairways/greens and they certainly haven't mowed any time recently. I was very disappointed in the course condition. Additionally, I noticed that there was no cart service with beverages and snacks. My colleagues told me that they have never seen a snack cart working in Hiddenbrooke. Sadly, I will not be golfing here again.

Lots of potential not very well maintained

This course is interesting because the front 9 was relatively flat with a nice mix of rolling hills and lots of water hazards which makes it challenging. The back nine was a lot of fun elevated tee shots, lots of hills and really nice views. The fairways and greens were not very well maintained. There's lots of overgrown vegetation and 3-4 inch tall dandelions in the fairways and the rough, making it difficult to see your ball. Also the water hazards were disgusting, algae and murky waters, look like a breeding ground for insects. Overall the pace of play was good, the staff was friendly and we had a good time at a good price.
