Overall - the course is one of my favorites.
But several greens are in trouble. Around the greens, there are some rough spots. Just not typical of OCN.
The round took over 5 hours to complete. No marshall.
I expect better from OCN, especially at these prices.

It’s not the Ritz or the Waldorf - but extremely affordable for a great challenging layout.

Yes - no rain in FL for months has dried up most courses. Yes - Covid19 has likely reduced golf Course staff and maintenance quite a bit. But for $35... well worth it.
Yes, it’s typically resort ready and you typically pay a lot for it.
I’d def play it again.

The wife plays 6-8 x year. So I found a hot deal. $25 for a Sunday round. Not bad. We were not expecting the Ritz.
Front desk pro shop guy was busy talking to a buddy. After 5 minutes of ignoring me - he finally checks us in.
Get to 1st tee. There is a 6-some! One of the guy’s in that 6-some was very rude and hostile. Fortunately they let my wife and I (2some), play through. We were behind a 5-some for much of the round.
Front 9 greens are shot. Hard to putt on dirt patches. Back 9 greens were a tad better.
Between crabby staffers. A-hole members claiming it’s ok to play as a 6-some (absolutely ridiculous!). And awful course conditions — You won’t see me on that course ever again.

Visiting from Orlando. Read many reviews before deciding.
Very nice course & amenities. Course conditions were pretty good. Few rough spots were minimal.
My top 2 issues are:
1). In my opinion, this is a $60 / round... max.
I get it - lots of snow birds... prices skyrocket.
$91 for a round — a bit too much.
2). Older gentleman with mustache... working the front desk... was not very warm or friendly. Hard to get over first impressions.

Nothing wrong with course. Typical FLA boring lined with homes everywhere. Well kept but too expensive.

Good value price.
Course is not in great shape - like many other courses during covid and no rain. Layout is odd-ball, since typical retiree condo / home setting.
Glad I played it. But there are many better choices in my opinion.

Dry conditions with no rain in 2 months - but besides that, good conditions on a great layout.
It’s a 55 minute drive for me to play here. Well worth it.

I played Shingle Creek again today. Always a great course. Even nicer today, with a GolfNow Hot Deal.
It hasn’t rained much for 1-2 months, so besides the course being ‘dry’... I enjoy rounds of golf here.

Great track. Not typical FLA layout.
I drive 50 minutes to play here, because for the money - it’s a great value.

I have seen cow pastures look better than this course. It was dirt cheap at $20 in mid March... but i still expected better conditions than i found this course in.
I last played this course, 12-18 months ago. It seems like course conditions are worse now.

It's a decent track layout. It's not boring golf that is challenging & makes you think.
The greens are in pretty good shape.
But it's downhill from there.
It's not very well maintained. Lots of rough spots all over the course.
There's nothing I hate more than to be just a few paces off the green & hitting from dirt instead of grass/turf.
I live in Orlando. If I lived around Mims ( I have no clue if there are other courses around Mims)... and it's my only choice, than I'd be happy to have a course near me.
But for me to drive 50 minutes from Oviedo and pay $40 for that course, does not make sense.

I tried it once 5-6 years ago. Wasn't too impressed then. But with a name change, new clubhouse and I presumed.... renovations to the course - I expected it to be in better shape.
I was wrong. It's very unlikely I'll make another 50 minute drive to play there again.
