Excellent layout, needs work

This course is one of my favorite OC layouts. It has a fair amount of challenge but is in need of some work. The greens were very slow, but were pristine and rolled true (they may be keeping them a bit long due to the drought). The bunkers were however, awful, just like concrete for the most part. Not wet, just rock hard.
Fairways are apparently being changed to a different grass and were for the most part browned out.

Hardly worth it, at any price

This course is in very bad shape, fairways are indistinguishable from the rough, greens are bumpy and tee boxes sad. Also there are duck droppings everywhere. Course layout is fine, but the conditions are really terrible.

Great resort course

Easier than Wailea Gold, same great conditions and beautiful views, Emerald is fun to play and won't bring you to your knees. Staff is also excellent. Tends to be a lot less windy and wet than the Kalua and Kaanapali courses. If you can play here and Makena, you'll have two super memories of Maui. Just accept that golf in Maui is very expensive!

Pretty course that can play tough

Hidden Valley is usually in good condition, with lots of hills and large, difficult greens. Be prepared for winds, especially in the afternoon, they can be very strong. The driving range is a joke, hitting balls into the side of a mountian.

Don't let the yardages fool you, it is tough.

Always in good shape this course will challenge you at a minimum or bring you to your knees at its worst. Beautiful course, until you have to hit your next shot. Greens are true and usually quick. Hilly and well maintained. It was so tough they removed some bunkers a year or so ago.

Nice layout and views, conditions "iffy"

Have always liked this track which used to be Trilogy. Conditions vary greatly from excellent in spots to cow pasture in others. Many greens seemed to have a disease.
Overall, ok but you can do better.

Nice layout, could use some work

An attractive layout, with many great views, Eagle Glen's conditions vary greatly from good to poor, never great.
Fairways have burned out spots and some greens have problems as well. Still it's a fun and challenging course where good scores can be had.

Heavily used, generally poor conditions and slow

RSJ is in the middle of Irvine and gets a lot of play. So expect it to be slow, 5 hours is normal. The fairways vary from ok to cow pasture bad. The greens are generally in pretty good condition. Not a particularly hard course, but you will be tested on several holes.
