Staff - If you open to non-members at least try and be pleasant to them

Have to give feedback on the very clear impression that as a non-member I was not very welcome in this club.
Yes, we all know private clubs are anti golfnow public players but if you need the money and welcome golfnow bookings dont make it so obvious you are unhappy.
Called in advance with a question and the guy on the phone was somewhat rude.
At the course the guy at cart return / bag drop area was miserable.
Totally unwelcome feeling.
Having said that it was an enjoyable course and good value for $37.
A few very nice holed but many more short holes than normal.
Course overall in good shape but greens rock hard although in good condition (and fast) for putting.

Very Overpriced at the moment (good design & will be excellent later)

Just opened for 2 weeks so still very rough around the edges.
Do NOT pay full price here. Even at hot deal rates of $49 I would say it is overpriced!
You are pretty much surrounded by construction so everything has an unfinished appearance, the grass varies from top quality to very patchy newly laid rough areas.
No washroom on back 9.
Open and easy off the tees.
Greens are mostly large, but tough and at times unfair.
Definitely will be a top quality course as the design is good, but it will take time.
The price charged now should reflect the current state of the course!

Mixed feelings

Some great holes and was not busy so very relaxed and enjoyable round.
But there's the other side of the course that has some unbelievably bad holes - for example the 6th. How can anyone call that a hole. I defy anyone to play it well.
Grass conditions quite long and ground was hard. So a few wrist breaking shots from bad lies.
Overall its fun for beginners or casual player but don't set your expectations too high if you are a seasoned golfer.

Walked

Enjoyable very basic course

Course and Facilities quite rough & ready.
Quality of grass, even fairways, not very manicured. But that's ok, it this course style. Just don't expect top quality.
Flat so easy to walk, but some par 5 are very long.
Don't like the big trees in middle of fairway.
It is beside a lake but you never really feel like it as you almost never see the lake (besides first 2 holes).

Disappointed

It's a nice course but overall I was disappointed - why? Well, I had played Classic Club the previous day and there's just no comparison!! Pete Dye course design surprised me as there are houses lining every hole. I guess I should have done more research but just to let everyone know if you don't like tight house-lined holes then don't play here. So many small things missing at Pete Dye - had to travel far from proshop to get a morning coffee at Starbucks (which was slow, incredibly overpriced and stale food!), staff not overly friendly, had to ask for towels for the golf cart, tee boxes not in great shape and most had uneven ground which should not happen at a top course. And there's no GPS. Having said that, some of the views are of course awesome! There's better courses in Palm Springs but still enjoyable to play Pete Dye.

Dear gsweeney,

Thank you for your review of our facility. We appreciate the comments regarding our operation and will pass along this feedback to the correct department heads. You might give our Gary Player Signature course a try during your next visit. It is quite a bit easier to access and is a great design.

Thank you and have a nice day!

Outstanding - highly recommended

This was one of the best courses I ever played!!!
Everything was perfect, the quality of the surroundings, the tee boxes, greens, everything was really well maintained.
Course design is tough and you need to bring your A game but it is well worth it with many beautiful and challenging holes.
It's almost perfect!
Best course in Palm Springs.
