Heron Creek has been my favorite course in the Venice/North Port area for the past 5 years. The price has gone up each year we have been coming down but conditions yesterday were very disappointing. The range was is terrible shape to start the day. The fairways were in poor shape and the pace of play was 5 plus hours🤮.The ranger was out in the Creeks course for the first nine yet still 2.5 hours, perhaps consider spreading groups better across the three nines? No ranger on the Oaks the second nine and pace slowed even more. We allowed a twosome to play through yet the foursome in front of them never allowed them to go through (the foursome had 3 carts and one rider observer). This is unacceptable and where was the ranger? No beverage cart either, 5 hours in 86 degree weather with one water station?? Cmon Heron Creek,you have a great facility that can do much better, we know, we’ve experienced it.

We have played many times and always enjoy our rounds. Oak first 2 holes are poorly laid out and very hard for average golfers but once you get past them the course is fun, challenging and fair.

We played Sunday afternoon in 4 hours which was great! Great course for the money, highly recommend!

Staff were great, course is fun and conditions good. Pace was slow but it was Sunday pm. Par 3’s second hole on both 9’s reallyback things up, once you get past them it improves.

2:40 front nine left after 13 as foursomesomes in front of us and we never would have finished. No sign of ranger trying to move people along, there are better options in the area and I don’t really think this course wants outside non member play. Good practice area.

Course is fun and challenging, we appreciate the friendly staff. Always busy which reflects the value provided.

Played in 4 hours today, good conditions, greens are quick but fair. Par 3’s are fun, lots of water and sand. Played a combination of green and gold tees which was good.

Nice course, paired with member who was great. She claimed this never happens as we took almost 5 hours to play, willing to trust her and try this again as the layout was good and fairways really ran. Greens were great, very fast and true.
