Decent Course, but HORRIFIC SERVICE/ATTITUDE

Course was good. But I came here to review their staff/attitude. It was terrible. The guy in the proshop was ok at best. The starter was miserable. And the club
cleaning guy had about as bad an attitude as I have experienced.
Ive played hundreds of golf courses. The attitude here was at the bottom 5%

Stay Away, far far away

12 of us went there , as we have virtually every year. This year (a Monday at 11:30 am no less) one of our guys couldnt play at the last minute. They refuse, & continue to refuse, to provide a raincheck for the non player (we paid in advance). Classy operation.
Now for the golf. Its a bit of a goat track. But they clearly put out too many players as $$$ is all they care about. Pace of play was ridiculous. No marshall in sight (I guess thats because it costs $$).Course has some beyond stupid holes. I would stay far away. Far better alternatives out there..
And oh, the clubhouse is a joke. Barely better than an Atco trailer imo.

Pace of play ridiculously slow. Bunkers a bad joke

Very pretty course. Well designed. Par 3's a bit gimmicky (huge elevation change) but ok. Overall well designed but oh man, was it slow. I HATE courses that jam out as many as they can for more $$. We were 12:20. There was a group at 12:24. Ridiculous , especially on a challenging course. Took 5:15 to play.
Now the sand. How a high end course like this has bunkers like that boggles the mind. The kind of sand they have is GREAT , if theres enough of it. Problem is, at the bottom of the bunkers, theres basically none so unless you are some sort of a champ (Im not, Im a 5) your sandwedge/wedge just bounces out and the ball goes skittering across the green (I dont have that shot anywhere in my repertoire. And I wasnt unique in our group). And to make it doubly worse, the bunkers are pretty deep and designed poorly so that at best you have a very flat lie at the bottom of the bunker, but often downhill. And theres lots of greenside bunkers. As an aside, I spoke afterwards to the club cleaner guy & he said "yeah, we get alot of those "observations".
Saw beer cart once.
Staff was ok, but got the impression they thought they were at Augusta & we should feel fortunate we got to play their track.
Practice facilities were nice.
10 minute cart ride to 1st tee/practice tee. Big deal. Thats irrelevant.
At the end of day, I wouldn't play here again, especially with chopper friends.Too slow, and with choppers, it could be a real torture test.
And its an hour + from North Scottsdale (on a weekend).
