Auburn Golf Course

Second time playing course; its nothing remarkable. Course conditions were not very good...greens were patchy /poorly maintained, and fairways were long and shaggy. The layout is also very quirky, especially holes 2 thru 6, very tight! Plus, no clear direction to the next hole. Several holes play short off tee, and can easily go long and over hit if you're unfamiliar with layout. Had cheap HotDeal round, but I would never pay more than $25 for this track.

Excellent warm weather, and the first really nice golf day this spring season. Course is always in great shape from tees to greens, and it's truly an enjoyable layout in the Amish countryside that feels different on every hole. Many hillsides, a lot of up and down. This is actually one of my favorites courses in the area, the greens are very challenging and can run fast. There are many more positives than negatives, but here are the areas that need improvement:
1. Always a starter but never a ranger. The pace can get very slow at times because nobody ever monitors after the first hole.
2. Sand traps need more work and better sand, especially fairway bunkers.
3. Front counter staff is usually NOT friendly. Frankly, often they're rude, especially the young tall guy... Need to act like they actually care about the golf customer.
4. Carts are older, and they don't have enough on very busy days, making people wait.
5. Nearly every tee box is uneven ground.
6. Greens keeper can sometimes get a little crazy with pin placement. Greens run nice, but are extremely slopey, and can be VERY hard depending on pin.
7. 18th hole is tough due to the water and hazards; watch out!
North Shore Golf Course
Played On 04/08/2018Fantastic Course & Value!
Truly enjoyed the round and facility. Course conditions were great, fairways and greens were very nice. The course had a nice practice range and putting green to warm up before play, and the carts were also new and well maintained. The layout was straight forward, but there is water and some marshy areas that require shot strategy, some of these are hidden if you're a first timer. The best feature: had an extremely nice and very helpful pro shop staff. Highly recommend and would play again.
Inniscrone Golf Club
Played On 10/28/2017Forget the back nine
Have played this course several times this year, as the greens fees are always attractive and it's close in proximity to where I live. The staff is generally friendly and the course is usually well maintained. Regarding the course conditions, the greens often play slower and spongier than most other public courses, so there are many foot prints and indentations. The fairways and rough are nice and play fair.
Most importantly, I've found the front nine is always a good experience; it's design is straighr forward, open on several holes, and it's not quirky. However, the back 9 is just the opposite. At the end of each round, i pause to think that the back nine keeps me from wanting to ever return again. If you're a first timer to this course, you will leave very frustrated, epecislly with holes 10, 16, and 17. These are very poorly designed; frankly, 3 of the worst holes found in a 50 mile radius on any public course. Just beware, the back nine can quickly turn a good front nine performance to a terrible overall finish.
The Wetlands Golf Course
Played On 10/21/2017Had a very enjoyable afternoon at an above average course. Overall, i would give a thumbs up for the course conditions, and it was a good round/experience. The hot deal price I paid was very reasonable; but, I've noticed the green fees have increased significantly this year. If there is one complaint, they should revisit their green fees. I would probably play the course more, but I've found many other courses that are closer for me, more affordable, or nicer. However, I did notice that they made several small improvements to the course, so at least they are investing money back into the course.
Four Seasons Golf Course
Played On 07/30/2017Early Bird Special
First round of the morning on a beautiful day, and also had a great discounted rate. Enjoyed the course and conditions, and the greens were really in excellent shape. Some of the holes feel the same, but overall good experience. Only negative about the round was the staff /employee, who arrived late to open the pro shop. He came at the same time as the first Tee time, and was both the guy taking money and getting the carts. They need more staff and should arrive 15 minutes earlier.
Galen Hall Golf Club
Played On 07/08/2017Enjoyable course
Have played Galen Hall approx 4 times in last 60 days and really enjoy the course overall. Conditions nice and pace was good, except on one occasion where foursome would not let me (single) play through after the turn. Just a rude group of locals, but not rrflective of the course itself. Greens were nice conditoon, its very scenic and openness of course makes this fun to play. However, some of the holes are long or quite challenging. Only negative, it's a very long drive for me, about 75 min due to back country roads, so $40 or more green fee is not appealing. I give a thumbs up and recommend, but lower the fees if you want to attract more people.
White Clay Creek Country Club at Delaware Park
Played On 07/03/2017Hardest Course in Delaware
Extremely hard course due to layout and design, with many forced carries and hazards. Longer course too, with several holes that are tight with little room for error either left or right. Course conditions are excellent and staff was nice, except for the ranger that instructrd the twosome behind to drive their tee shot into our foursome. Greens are very nice and fast...plsys like a country club, and greens fees are on high side. Only real issue with course is the difficulty, which did not make it enjoyable, even for an above average golfer. Take your "A" game and plenty of balls (but not your best /brand new balls)...and be prepared to lose several.
Pilgrim's Oak Golf Course
Played On 12/27/2016Enjoyable Round
Overall course layout is great, very scenic location and course conditions were excellent, especially for late December. Other than the 11th hole & green being almost impossible/unfair (especially depending on pin placement), good experience and enjoyable round. Openness of course doesn't overly penalize, but must be fairly long and accurate with middle and long irons to shoot low score. Clubhouse desk manager could be bit friendlier.
Garrisons Lake Golf Club
Played On 11/12/2016Terribly Maintained Course...DONT WASTE TIME!
Having played over 75 rounds this year, I can say this was the absolute WORST course I've played. In fairness, the course may look /feel different in Spring or Summer, but it was completely unmaintained in the Fall. Course is extremely tight with large trees lining fairways, and leaves everywhere. Obvious NO attempt by grounds crew to clean leaves for many days. Multiple lost balls on fairways, even with good shots. MUST keep it straight at all times...zero room for error otherwise. Also, very sparse amenities with doublewide trailer for clubhouse, and rushed by starter to get on box, even before Tee time. Excellent deals on GolfNow, but pay the extra $5-10 and play a course that's worth the money...there's a reason it's so cheap. If cheap is for you, be prepared for a very frustrating round.
Hawk Valley Golf Club
Played On 10/05/2016Enjoyable course
Very enjoyable course that was in nice condition. The layout is straight forward, not overly long The course is not complicated from Tee to green, but the greens are challenging with slope and undulation. Well maintained overall, greens were in very good shape. I recommend the course and would play again. It's a bit of a drive to get to as its in a rural area.
The Wetlands Golf Course
Played On 07/09/2016Nice course, Great Value
Course conditions are always nice, and this facility offers challenge without being unfair or a daunting layout. Have booked each round through Golf Now and paid excellent price. Played approx 4-5 times in last 60 days and enjoy it more on every occasion. Starter was very friendly, but front counter staff always seems a little rude. Also, while greens are well maintained they are always very slow, even for muni course. Last, the Ranger needs to monitor pace better, not out enough.
Wyncote Golf Club
Played On 07/04/2016My Favorite Course
Best Muni Course in Souther Chester County, PA. Truly a well maintained course that is challenging and enjoyable. Only two negatives: often windy, which can create complications. Also, the ownership needs to invest in rakes for bunkers!! Dumbest thing ever to have on carts...why, for benefit of grounds crew? People always forget, and the sand doesn't get raked out! Get some rakes...come on.
Inniscrone Golf Club
Played On 06/23/2016DONT WASTE YOUR TIME!
DO NOT RECOMMEND!! Staff and management is very unprofessional and course is poorly run. Have played 3 times In past 60 days, mostly due to affordable rates, but had poor experience on every occasion. Poor pace with no Marshall, no rain check even due to severe storm, and very rude young man/staff at counter. Also, some holes have very weird layout design. There are many other options in area that are nicer, better run, and affordable...this is NOT WORTH THE DRIVE.

Wyncote Golf Club
Played On 04/30/2016One of best Muni courses in area
Always excellent conditions, challenging but fair layout. Longer course so makes you use all your clubs in bag. Greens are well maintained and roll smooth and true. Enjoyable scenery and fun to play, but course can be windy at times due to openness of terrain. Only real complaints: rakes on cart instead of in bunker is extremely stupid...bunkers often not raked because people forget rake. Owner needs to change and invest in having rakes at the bunkers. Also, cost for water in coolers ("honor system") is too high...cut price in half, the greens fees are already on the higher side. Last, pace of play can be slow...expect at least 4 to 5 hour round or longer, if busy (no marshals).
Duffer109,
Thank you for the great 4-Star review! We are happy to hear you found value in the course. Thank you for the continued loyalty, and we look forward to seeing you out again soon!
