Whispering Woods Golf Club
Played On 10/18/2014Shot makers course with excellent greens!!!
A hidden gem. This is not a bombs away course. shot placement off of the tee is critical. Greens are very receptive and run smooth and fast. A definite must play for anyone coming to the Whispering Pines area.
King's Grant Golf & Country Club
Played On 10/10/2014Definitely not on my re-visit list
Let me start with the good: housing community was very nice, but the course leaves something to be desired. Tiny 1 way damaged asphalt entrance led to what seems like a modular type home. Check in was very pleasant and the staff seems to be real nice. There was no one to monitor the start times and it was extremely backed up. Members are very rude and snooty. Overall layout was challenging at times. The overall condition of the course left something to be desired. Even though it had not rained in over a week, there was a tremendous amount of water / mud everywhere, which I contribute to poor drainage. The greens were even worse and not very well maintained at all. Bare spots, small trenches made for some wild putting. From what I have heard, their head greens keeper left to go to another course. It may be an indication of how the company runs the course. The course has some potential, but there are way to many courses within 30 minutes of here for anyone to want to play this one. Do yourselves a favor, visit Anderson Creek, Bayonet, or any of the Moore County courses. It will be a much better experience.
