Played On 04/24/2018Small elevated greens
Small, elevated well maintained greens. Average fairways and tee boxes. Decent course layout and inexpensive green fees.
Really good value for a course that is always in very playable condition.

Oak Knoll Country Club
Played On 09/19/2017Friendly staff
Tees and fairways in decent shape but greens are bumpy. They have been sanded and look to be mending. Fun course with a crazy 200 yard blind par three. Tiny, crested, elevated greens are what make this course a challenge.

Oak Knoll Country Club
Played On 04/09/2015Old style course
The course has wide fairways and small elevated greens. Most greens are banked back to front. The greens were is good condition, a little slow, and the fairways were in good condition. Many small water hazards, some hidden. There is a 200 yard blind shot par 3 which is somewhat disconcerting, but just hit it between the trees which direct you toward the green. You have no idea where your ball is until you reach the green. An enjoyable experience overall.
Pinewood Golf Club
Played On 03/20/2015Great value
I hadn't played the course in a while and was very surprised at the excellent condition of the greens. The fairways were also in good condition. The front none is fairly wide open and the back nine tightens up considerably. Not a long course and very playable for all handicaps.
Gemstone Plantation Country Club
Played On 03/27/2014Great greens
The greens on this course are pristine, as good as any in metro New Orleans. Really nice layout including par 3 island hole. Fairly wide open course with a few tight holes. Very playable for all skill levels. Also nice having rolling hills as this course is about 1 1/2 hours north of New Orleans where almost everything is flat. A little out of the way but worth the occasional drive from New Orleans and the best bargain if you live north of Lake Pontchartrain. Only things lacking are clubhouse and food and beverage.

Very good Tif Eagle greens. Average tees and fairways. Wide tree-lined fairways.
Audubon Park Golf Course
Played On 2/15/2013Course is always in great condition
This is an executive, par 62, layout. The course is very well maintained and is an interesting walk or ride through a state park, Audubon Park. The fees are very reasonable and your round can be completed in 2 to 3 hours depending upon how booked the course is.
Abita Springs Golf & Country Club
Played On 12/6/2012This course is a good test using all clubs in bag.
The greens are the course's best feature and are always in good shape. The tees could use some work and the fairways are average to above average. The rates are some of the best in the area. The course does not drain well so it is best not to play after moderate rainfall.
Gatlinburg Golf Course
Played On 11/29/2012Very interesting layout.
This course has beautiful views and wide forgiving fairways on most holes. The fairways are very undulating and you are always approaching greens either well below or well above the green with a few blind approach shots. Very enjoyable course if you are from the flatlands as I am.
