Schneiter's Riverside Golf Course
Played On 07/29/2020Second experience was great
Today I played Schneiter’s Riverside GC with a friend for the second time in about three weeks; today’s round was very good with the exception of two young men (pre-teens) who were ahead of us for the front nine; as I checked in, I was greeted and assisted promptly and courteously; we were sent out early which was appreciated, and the course was in excellent shape; this round allowed us to enjoy the diverse layout and challenges; I would recommend this course to all golfers, but expect slower play as this course is very popular with all age groups and skill level players.
Eagle Mountain Golf Course
Played On 07/24/2020Great round
Eagle Mountain GC is a tough, challenging course that intermediate and above golfers will enjoy playing; the staff was extremely friendly and accommodating; the course poses challenges with narrow and tree-lines fairways; it is a fun course that I enjoy playing.
Cedar Hills Golf Club
Played On 07/22/2020Another great round
Cedar Hills GC is a fun, challenging course that entertains and forces strategic play; the staff was very welcoming and friendly and accommodated the fact that our third player was going to be late due to traffic/construction; the course was in good shape, and the green fee was well worth the experience; this was the first time the friend I mentioned earlier had played this course, and when we finished, he stated that he really enjoyed the round and wanted to play the course soon.
Carbon Country Club
Played On 07/21/2020Another wonderful golf experience
Carbon Country Club GC has become a favorite course that I wish were much closer so I could play it more often; the staff is fantastic, welcoming, friendly, and accommodating; the course was in great condition and is an obvious favorite of local golfers as it is quite busy; the course layout is challenging and requires strategic play, and there is obvious reward for well played shots and penalties for inaccurate play; overall this course is well worth the green fee and time spent playing; I will play here annually.
Stonebridge Golf Club - Creekside/Sunrise Course
Played On 07/18/2020Another great experience
Stonebridge is a challenging set of three 8-hole courses that I have come to enjoy playing; despite the typical winds that exist, it always poses interesting rewards and challenges; it feels like the last several weeks the two courses have only been Creekside/Sagebrush with Sunrise not included, but it has forced me to formalize my strategy on these two 9-hole courses; I really enjoy Sunrise, but I will be patient and await its availability; I don’t recommend this course to beginners because it is quite challenging, but intermediate and above will enjoy the challenge and strategy needed to score well.
Oquirrh Hills Golf Course
Played On 07/11/2020Always a great experience and fun round
Oquirrh Hills GC is a favorite of our golf group that we play several times a year; the front nine challenges with tree-lined fairways that require strategic play while the back nine is a bit more open with smaller, younger trees that will provide challenges as time progresses; however, the back nine does provide its own challenges with several elevated greens that mimic the front nine smaller sized greens; I would recommend this course to all levels of players as there are tee boxes for all levels; the staff is friendly, accommodating, and welcoming; it is definitely worth the drive from SLC and will not disappoint.
Carbon Country Club
Played On 07/04/2020Always a great experience
I started playing Carbon CC GC last year and have been very impressed and satisfied with every round; it is well worth the drive from Salt Lake City for the experience; I make the 4-hour trip a few times a year because it is worth the cost; the course was in great shape and always poses its challenges and unique hole designs; the staff is very friendly and accommodating especially with the Groupon vouchers that I have used; I recommend this course to all golfers.
Mountain at Wasatch Mountain State Park
Played On 07/03/2020Great, slow holiday round
Wasatch Mountain State Park is a very popular summer destination which makes the golf courses (Lake & Mountain) very busy; however, the courses are great and worth the slow play; the Mountain course is a favorite for our golf group to play, and this was no exception; the course, as always, was in fantastic shape, and the staff were friendly and accommodating; I recommend this course to all golfers wanting to enjoy the awesome Wasatch Mountains and wildlife while playing golf; you will not be disappointed!
Sun Hills Golf Course
Played On 06/27/2020Slow, but fun
Sun Hills GC was very busy today which caused slow play; most of the groups I watched tee off the first tee box were playing the white tees which made me believe the round would be a bit faster than normal; however, I believe it was because many beginner golfers were playing today; we waited from the first tee through the ninth tee due to slow 9-hole round groups; it did speed up for the back nine, but the round still started about 20 minutes late (9:20 rather than 9:00), and the front nine was very slow; the round took about five (5) hours; the course was in great shape, and the staff was very friendly and focused on providing a great experience; I enjoy this course and recommend it to all level golfers.
Gladstan Golf Course
Played On 06/21/2020Always fun & challenging
Gladstan GC is one I enjoy playing several times a year with hopes of conquering its various challenges; once again I leave defeated but believing I can overcome the diversity of course layout and terrain; the course was in great shape and as busy as ever on this Father’s Day outing; the staff are welcoming and friendly with great customer service; we were partnered with two singles who were playing this course for the first time which made the round even more fun because it allowed us to really concentrate on how each hole is unique and challenging; another fantastic round that keeps me wanting more; I would recommend this course to all golfers intermediate and above due to the layout challenging greens.
Mountain at Wasatch Mountain State Park
Played On 06/19/2020An annual favorite
Our group has played here the past few years which has become an annual favorite for the group; the course was in fantastic condition which is obviously a favorite destination course for golfers from all destinations; the views are fantastic, and the course play requires the use of all clubs as well as strategy; I would recommend this course to all golfers above beginner level; although it has beautiful views, the challenge level would deter from the pleasure of a beginner.
Homestead Golf Club
Played On 06/18/2020Annual favorite course to play
Homestead (formerly Crater Springs) GC is a favorite that I look forward to playing each season; this was my third round of the season, and I expect to play a few more times; I would recommend this course to all golfers above beginner; the new management has made a few changes that make the aesthetics very pleasing, but the course layout and challenge is still as good as ever.
Paradise Golf Resort
Played On 06/15/2020Great quiet, relaxing 9-hole round
I thoroughly enjoy stopping and playing the Paradise course as we travel through the area; if I have time, I generally attempt to make it a stop on my treks to southern Utah; it is a quiet course during the week when I stop, and barring them being closed, I can get out without any hesitation; the layout is quite fun and provides ample challenge for beginners and intermediate players, and I noticed there are black tees for those who feel they are that level of player; if I lived closer, I would imagine I would play there more often; the greens and fairways were in great shape, and except for the wind that blew from every direction during my round, it was a great round that allowed me to work on some details of my game; I would recommend it as a quiet stop to stretch your legs and and swing your clubs; if my wife played, it would be double the fun.
Coral Canyon Golf Course
Played On 06/12/2020Fun, enjoyable round
Coral Canyon GC is a favorite course that I play a handful of times each year; the staff is welcoming, friendly, and attentive; the pace of play was a bit slow with two groups on each hole, but it was a pleasant round despite the delays; surprisingly the greens had some imperfections that affected putts which is uncommon for Coral Canyon; the fairways were in good shape, and the tee boxes had some repairs taking place which adjusted distances for the white tees; overall it was a fun, enjoyable round of golf.
Homestead Golf Club
Played On 06/09/2020Pleasant round in a great course
This was my second round at Homestead which was as good as the first round which was a week prior; I recommend this course to all intermediate and above players; I believe this course is a bit tough for beginners because of the mountain terrain and water in the course; the staff was very friendly and accommodating and made Th experience wonderful; the course was in fantasy shape and there are some changes being made that will heighten the experience; this is a course I play each summer and look forward to every year.
Coral Canyon Golf Course
Played On 05/23/2020Excellent experience
This was only my second round on the Wasatch Mountain -Lake Course, first round this year, but I have been very pleased with the experience; the courses was in great shape, and the staff was very accommodating; the only real issue was a slow group that was in front of us on the front nine; we were able to get ahead of them at the turn; otherwise it was an excellent round of golf; I look forward to another round at this course this season.
Dixie Red Hills Golf Course
Played On 05/17/2020Challenging course, excessive green fee
I stopped in to do some chipping and putting at the end of the day as we drove into town, but it didn’t seem busy so I checked in the clubhouse; I was able to get out, but the green fee was $21.50 walking which is way overpriced; I was not asked for my St George City Golf Card and literally had forgotten I had it after the drive down for SLC which may have discounted the green fee, but...
The course was in great shape and the course layout is great and challenging, forcing strategic play rather than pounding the driver on every par 4 and par 5; I really enjoy the course, but I probably won’t play there again for another several years as I had before; after the experience, I remembered the excessive green fee is what drove me away several years ago.
Glen Eagle Golf Club
Played On 05/16/2020Great round, great experience
I have played Glen Eagle GC a few times this spring during the COVID-19 pandemic, and I have been reimpressed; the only experience that was disheartens the wind which is of no consequence for the course; I recommend this course to all golfers with hesitation to the beginners.
Glen Eagle Golf Club
Played On 05/09/2020Great COVID-19 round
Glen Eagle GC is a very fun, challenging course with a great layout and great staff; the only real issue we encountered was a 2-some (1 riding, 1 walking) held up out 3-some (all walking) on several holes, but it was a great round; we will be returning next weekend to play there again.
Stonebridge Golf Club - Creekside/Sunrise Course
Played On 04/22/2020Windy, well paced walking round
Other than fairly stiff winds (10-12mph) which are common at Stonebridge GC and greens recovering from aeration, this was a smooth, well paced round; I look forward to smoother, faster greens in a week or so; there were no issues with other groups o the pace of play was excellent.
