Mattawang Golf Club
Played On 08/09/2020Hopefully Just an Off Day
Had to leave after 11 holes which was disappointing. First 9 were well paced at about 2 hours but at 10 we ran into a backup I haven’t seen before . 2 Foursomes were waiting at the hole in front of us and it was just too long of a wait on a hot day . Enjoyed what I saw of the course but for what I paid I was disappointed that I had to leave . Certainly won’t go back on a weekend , if ever , as there are too many choices to have to put up with that kind of backup .

Overall an enjoyable round . First series of holes are close to one another which makes it challenging in terms of errant balls and disruption from neighboring foursomes. Course opens up on back nine and has some nice views and interesting holes. Greens are in variable condition so purists might be annoyed but they OK overall . While not in lush pristine condition the overall course played well and had interesting layouts. Starter and staff were welcoming. I would come back as the round was fun and worth a visit

Very nice course - very accomidatting . Try to avoid Friday afternoon as they have co-Ed leagues so it was backed up and kinda slow. Even with slow pace I enjoyed myself and the course has a nice variety of holes. Fairly narrow with many mature trees made it tough if your tee shot goes wide. Greens had some nice nuances and breaks - fun time !

I would highly recommend this course. They offer several tee lengths and a easy to ready chart to guide which tee to play from. Greens are in great shape and the overall course is in superb condition.
The staff is very friendly and helpful and the facilities are nice and clean.
Make this a stop - you won't regret it!
The back up you reference was two groups of players using single carts back to back. There was only one group a bit delayed after stopping to purchase drinks, they caught up very quickly. All the groups in front of you and behind you played in 4 hours and 15 minutes. Sorry to you did not hang in there to see for yourself.
