Desert Island Country Club
Played On 03/14/2020That was fast!
Our twosome played in 3.5 hours—and it was a great experience! On a Saturday morning, no less!
The course was in fabulous shape, though the greens seemed too slow for this time of year. It was my first time playing this course and, for $85 on a Saturday morning in the middle of “the season,” it was well worth the money. A very good value!

Played On 02/16/2020So much fun!
The course is in great shape and we played in 2.5 hours. Lots of fun. I it everything from a 50-wedge to 4-iron on tee shots.

Played On 12/14/2019Sinatra Would Still Love it!
Frank Sinatra used to host his pro-am tournament here, and the course still has a certain magic about it. It has character; it’s a challenge; and it has absolutely fabulous greens. It’s always in great shape and the staff maintains a reverence for the course’s history that they’re happy to share. And the experience is amplified by the amazing mid-century home designs that make Palm Springs so special.

Played On 09/28/2019Is it my turn yet?
From the time we feed off at 7:45 am, we were waiting. It was so slow, the starter announced that they were running “a tee time behind.” Was there a course marshal to be seen during the round? No. A frustrating experience.
The effort that goes into maintaining such a nice course is wasted since the extremely slow experience dominates the psyche.

This is a great course for new golfers and kids. Heck, it has a couple of par 3s that are 200 yards, so it’s a challenge to single-digit handicappers, too! It’s a pretty well-maintained course and is definitely a value!
Palms at Marriott's Desert Springs Resort
Played On 08/10/2019Great Resort Experience
The Palm course is a fun experience; it’s the epitome of “resort golf.” By that I mean a challenging—but forgiving—layout that’s not too long but long enough.
Coming up the 18th fairway, approaching the large adjacent hotel pool, it was hard NOT to start moving to the music being cranked out on a Saturday. We couldn’t help but have a good time!

Played On 05/25/2019Nice Surprise!
A pleasant surprise! This executive course is an excellent place for my daughter to learn the game and have fun. I had a great time, too. Course is in beautiful shape and the greens putt very true.
Indian Canyons Golf Resort - North Course
Played On 01/05/2019Yeah, baby!
Yes, it was an unusually cold day but the round was truly enjoyable. The course is in great shape and the greens are quick and true. So much history here, too, and the clubhouse is open again! What a view from the bar!

The experience wasn’t “silver;” it was “gold.” This is what a great golf experience is all about. Honestly, there’s nothing to be critical about because this operation gets it. Fantastic!

Played On 11/10/2018Sweet Day and Sweeter Greens
In the few weeks since the course re-opened, the greens have come in beautifully! Relatively quick and true. Had lots of fun playing this course.
Indian Canyons Golf Resort - North Course
Played On 10/27/2018Opening Day!
In opening day, the course looked—and played—great. The greens, which have always been quick and true, are a little slow right now, but they will get faster. A classic course with tremendous Palm Springs heritage, and some spectacular mountain views.
Cimarron Golf Club - Boulder Course
Played On 10/20/2018New Season!
Played this course on the first day it was open after over-seeding. Loved it! Greens were a bit shaggy but that’s to be expected right now. Fairways are beautiful. Bunkers do need an overhaul, though.

I’ve heard great things about this course for years and, I must say, it exceeded my expectations. My index is 3.3, so I can be very critical of course set-up, maintenance, green speed, etc. I had a great time and drive away kicking myself for not having played this course before now. I also measure the quality of a golf staff by the young men on the golf services team. They are the primary “touch point” for golfers, and these guys didn’t disappoint. Friendly, helpful and genuinely wanted to know what I thought of the course. Can’t wait to come back!!

Played On 09/01/2018Fun, fun, fun!
The year-effort to rebuild the bunkers is almost complete. The course is in very good shape and the greens roll true. Arguably, some of the best views in the valley are at Indian Canyons. A challenging but fun course to play!

Played On 07/07/2018See the Little Things
Yes, it’s the middle of summer in Palm Springs and it’s HOT! The course is holding up well but the maintenance crew needs to focus on the little things that convey to golfers that they care. Edge the grass on cart paths, sweep rocks and sand off of paths, put water in the club washers on the range, etc. The staff is welcoming and helpful. It’s a fun, challenging layout. I always have a good time here but they just need to go that extra mile to set this course apart from others in the area.
Escena Golf Club
Played On 07/06/2018Keeps Getting Better
The course is in great shape and the greens roll true. Can’t ask for more than that! I played in 110-degree heat and I could tell the superintendent was ready for the heat wave by the amount of water he put on the course. And, it goes without saying, Escena has a fantastic clubhouse and restaurant!
Indian Canyons Golf Resort - North Course
Played On 05/13/2018Aging Like a Fine Wine
This course is enjoyable on many levels. The layout is not too exciting—it was built to be in the midst of a neighborhood—but each hole has some nuance that makes it fun to play. The greens are arguably the best in Palm Springs. They are quick but roll true. For all of the mid-century architecture in Palm Springs, this course is a perfect complement. I’m bummed it’s not open the whole year!
Eagle Glen Golf Club
Played On 01/07/2018A lip out
Just like a lip out, this course is close to being what it should be. Attention to detail is important! Greens are quick and true but fairways and tee boxes show signs of uneven attention and watering. Yes, the Bermuda is dormant but the areas that should be green aren’t always. Let the rough grow to catch balls from rolling into hazards. And how is the snack bar between 2 and 11 unmanned on a Sunday afternoon? Yikes. Trim some cart paths and spruce up the appearance, please.
Thank you for the kind comments, next time you come play I'd like to offer you a free warm up bucket.

Great course with lots of history. Arguably the best greens in the desert. Speedy, true and nothing is straight! Also, you get to see some of the coolest houses in Palm Springs.
Indian Canyons Golf Resort - South Course
Played On 07/31/2015Great desert golf!
Even with temperatures above 100, this is still a fun, challenging course to play. Lots of water stations on the course, too. Terrific practice range,.
Outstanding! We're thrilled that you enjoyed your experience with us and we appreciate your review. We can't wait to have you back again soon at SilverRock!
