McDowell Mountain Golf Club
Played On 03/01/2024Very enjoyable course
I had played this course just a couple of times prior. They seemed to have improved the range hitting surfaces so there is grass . The tee boxes, fairways and green were in good shape! I don’t recall waiting more than a few minutes any time during the round. If there is one improvement really needed, it’s the bunkers.
Staff was friendly and efficient and price was good for an in season rate.
The Club at Starr Pass - Rattler/Coyote
Played On 10/11/2023Greens are struggling
The after overseed is going ok but something is really going on with the greens!! They are having to cut out large chunks and re sod! Not sure if it’s diseased or invasive grasses?? $95 is not the correct price right now! $65 at absolute highest! Fairway’s and tees are good but poor quality greens.
Quarry Pines Golf Club
Played On 10/08/2023Good after overseed
Cart path only and it did slow play a bit, but was still good. Nice and will be great with some grow time!
del Lago Golf Club
Played On 10/07/2023Wait until it grows
This course needs more time after overseed to grow. They unfortunately permitted singles and twosomes out by themselves.early Saturday morning. Really jammed up the flow. When questioned the ranger said they refused to join others. Sad that they were able to dictate the pace of full foresomes. Fun layout and challenging course and will consider again after grow time.
Las Sendas Golf Club
Played On 05/13/2023Always. Fun challenging track!
I try and play Las Sendas at least 3 times a year when in the Phoenix metro. Never have been disappointed!
Hello, Supersmil2. Thanks so much for taking the time to write a review. We're so glad that you enjoyed your round at Las Sendas Golf Club. Please visit us again soon!
Mountain at Angel Park Golf Club
Played On 12/08/2022Nice course overall - fun
The range was Mats and hitting into a dust bowl. The course was good and fun. It’s nice and close to strip so convenient. Understand the rates but residents pay less than half. I get the jack the tourists but felt taken advantage of. I would definitely play again.
Quarry Pines Golf Club
Played On 10/08/2022Just out of overseed but good to go
Quarry Pines just came out of overseed and had heavy rains the night before biut the crew was on it and got it into shape quickly!! Always a fun course!
Longbow Golf Club
Played On 09/30/2022Good but going into overseed
I like the course layout and challenges. The course was going into overseed so scalped. Look forward to playing it in season.
McDowell Mountain Golf Club
Played On 08/06/2022Sad state of conditions for a nice course
I had played this course in season and really enjoyed it. I had an opportunity to get a round in and thought I would play MvDowell Mtn. The cost for summer golf was a bit high for summer but I thought from my past experience it would be worth it.
I was very disappointed to see the deterioration of the course grassy areas. The range had almost zero grass on it. Once we warmed up and started playing the course, grass became a premium on tee boxes and especially the fairways. It’s tough when you hit a good drive in the middle of the fairway and not even have grass to move your ball to.
They charged me $90 and at this time and current conditions the course is not $40. Hopefully they will have a good overseed and return it to its past glory.
McDowell Mountain Golf Club
Played On 11/27/2021Nice and challenging
I really enjoyed the course and the layout. Greens were fast and challenging. The only downside was the ranger was polite but asked us to play faster even though we were going to finish in under 4 hours. He did not take into account the speed demons ahead of us. I will definitely play the course again.
TPC Scottsdale - The Champions Course
Played On 11/26/2021Spongy conditions and very slow play
I’m not sure why the course was so soft? We found plugging even in the fairways. They had not gotten any recent rains so can only assume it was watering issues. No ranger and had to wait on every shot. I don’t think I’ll play there again as at the price they charge, there are a lot of options. Too bad too!
Forty-Niner Country Club
Played On 10/07/2021Very dated, boring layout and poor conditions
I know they just came out of overseed but the bad weed and grass overgrowth has been allowed for years! This course is struggling. It’s ok for a course that could charge $15 but unfortunately I paid $35. I wish them luck!! Very nice staff and very good restaurant!!!!
The Club at Starr Pass - Rattler/Coyote
Played On 10/05/2021Great course, too moist!!
I really enjoy this course, but they have to figure out how too take away the moist and sloppy areas.
Greens are the largest issue! They are so moist that balls are plugging and you can see the foot prints from golfers. The maintenance equipment are leaving deep tracks when the greens are being mowed.
With some dryer weather in sight, the course conditions should improve!!
Eagle Mountain Golf Club
Played On 10/02/2021Best conditions I’ve seen it! Lots of improvements!
I had played this course twice last spring and enjoyed it! First time in April, very nice condition! Second time late may they were struggling!
I played yesterday morning and wow!! So much nicer both in conditions and playability! I see that there has been significant investments in turf and how the course plays!
I suggest you get out and play it before they go into overseed!!!
Thank you so much for the great review. We are so very fortunate that that we had all the rains in September to flush the soils and get us back to normal.
SunRidge Canyon Golf Club
Played On 10/01/2021Great course but, wait for two months!!!
I truly love this course, but they just opened after two months of overseed work! I thought that being closed for TWO MONTHS of overseed work that the course would be in at least good playing condition! Sadly I was wrong!
The tee boxes were soggy and turf was only cut to a 2 in length. Burmuda rough was so deep you could not see the tops of your shoes. Fairways were so soggy that balls would plug. The grass on fairways were spotty(that was expected) so played lift, clean and place.
If this course would have charged $75 for the round, I could have said … ok, I get it, but my round was over $160!!!
I want to repeat! I really love this course! I just won’t play it for another two months and never just when they just re open!
Arizona National Golf Club
Played On 07/04/2021Grass transition taking hold!! Great layout!!
I played the course a few weeks ago, just after the winter rye burned and summer grass was struggling. The grounds crews plan is really starting to show results. Greens are very good and the rest of the course is staring to boom! Layout is always camera worthy!!! Best value in Tucson!
Thank you for playing and sharing your experience. Hope to see you again soon!
Las Sendas Golf Club
Played On 05/21/2021Great course! Fun!
Very fun course a d in great shape. The only need is bunker sand.
Thank you for your kind words! We hope to see you again at the course very soon for another 5-star experience. Thanks for choosing Las Sendas Golf Club.
Sewailo Golf Club
Played On 05/17/2021Course is concrete-water needed
This used to be such a great course! Conditions look good but surfaces are dry and hard as concrete! Roll out is impossible to control! May as well hit long irons and leave your driver and 3 wood at home! Green are very hard and don’t hold the ball very well! Definitely not worth the extra half hour drive!
The Golf Club at Dove Mountain - Saguaro/Tortolita
Played On 03/20/2021Too big for its britches
I had played this course when the WGC match play was still being held at the course. At that time the course conditions were fantastic. I had a friend from out of town visit and he wanted to play a “premium “ course. Dove Mountain is charging a high rate but is showing a lack of investment in the course. The most obvious was lack of sand in green side bunkers, and the material that was there was very rocky!!
If this course was $100 during season, I would recommend it, but at almost twice that... not so much!
The Club at Starr Pass - Rattler/Coyote
Played On 07/06/2021Good summer play
I have played this course a number of times in all different seasons. Spring summer time is transitional time so can be difficult conditions. The tee boxes and greens are great! Fairways are mostly good with summer grass. I had a great time.
