This is a beautiful course in an undeveloped area. The natural beauty, the elevation changes, I half expected to see King Kong. I’m a 13 handicap and I brought nine balls. Some friendly locals loaded me up with a dozen or so more from the water hazard. Good thing or I wouldn’t have finished the round. Thanks guys! I didn’t shoot my best score (not even close) but wow, what an experience.

This course is in my HHI area top 5. Beautiful views of the marshes and bay. Excellent conditions although some soggy spots to look out for today. Pace of play is normally good but today took 4 1/2 hours. Bring a lot of balls. Fairways surrounded by marsh and island greens are unforgiving. Some of these holes take a well placed drive to reach the green in regulation. Don't expect to beat your best score here but be ready for a fun challenging round.

This is not an easy course but it's fun and beautiful. Don't expect your best round but take it all in: conditions, layout, and the views. Can't wait to play it again.

The course was in excellent condition except for a few greens which had patches of dirt. Thanks to good pin placement the patches never came in to play. Otherwise the fairways were in great shape and the rough was fluffy which improved the pace of play. Three of us, one with less than a few months experience, finished in 3:27. We let a single play-thru and he probably finished much quicker. I will definitely be back.

Pristine conditions and very friendly staff. The greens were so fast I had trouble holding them - even with my putter. They warned me beforehand and told me to get a feel for it on the practice green, which I did but I still added quite a few strokes as I watched the ball sail past the hole. The good thing is the greens were true and if I hit it right, the flag stick got in the way. Pace of play was great – under three hours. The threesome in front of me let me play through and the twosome in front of them moved along as fast as they could to keep me from getting too close. It may have been my NYC hat during this COVID-19 scare. I’ve already made another tee time.

From tee box to green this course is in the best shape it’s been all year. Kudos to the maintenance staff. When a course is in this good shape the players take care of it too, barely a mark on the greens.

This is one of the most beautiful courses on Long Island and is always in great condition. Pace of play was just under 4 hours on a beautiful Saturday. There was a wedding going on. This would be a great place to hold an event.

I read some poor reviews about the staff but everyone was very friendly to me. The course is right on the water (too bad there's no views of the Great South Bay) so expect a breeze. The conditions were very good and the geese are under control. The layout was open but interesting.

While so many courses in Suffolk County are not being maintained, Swan Lake is in great condition. Kudos to the superintendent. Pace of play was very good also. We waited for a few minutes at several tees but still finished our round in 3 hrs 45 min. This is quickly becoming my favorite local course.

When I met the starter I was told they were ahead of schedule and the three players with the same tee time had already teed off. I caught up to them at the ninth hole and they let me play through. I waited a bit on a few tees and fairways but the next group soon let me play through as well. Very good golf etiquette. I finished the round in under three hours.

As always a fun course with great conditions. A quick beer in the clubhouse and I was home in plenty of time for dinner with the family. I wish every round was this pleasant.

I've played here in the past so I know they can do better but yesterday it took us 3 hours and 25 minutes to finish the front nine. That time doesn't include teeing off a half hour late. The back nine wasn't much better. Our tee time was for 1:30pm and we only got 16 holes in before dark. There were at least five groups waiting at the first tee and two to three groups at every other tee. The starter kept saying, "There's nothing we can do. It's just a crazy day." Really? Even with the slow play there was an empty hole two groups ahead of us. Where was the ranger? We jumped two holes to get passed them and still had to wait at every tee. A 1:30 tee time and we finished 16 holes at 7:25pm.

There are very few flat greens on this course. You really have to be creative with all the different levels. My favorite is the 16th with a spine down the middle.

The staff is great and takes the time to ask about your round before you leave. Conditions, experience, they want to make sure that you want to come back.

I was playing single. The starter didn't just throw me in with the group that booked the same tee time as me. He gave me the option of going out with a group that was similar in age and experience. Playing single doesn't mean you want to play alone with three other people. Thanks!

This is a beautiful course and beautifully maintained. The rough was thick but low so I didn't lose or find a ball all day. Pace of play was very good. Maybe everyone was in Old Westbury watching Dustin battle Jordan. I've enjoyed The Woods across the street but this course is even better. No bare spots under the trees. My only complaint as with all other public courses is the divots on the greens. I wish every course would hand out a divot tool with every scorecard and directions printed on the card on how not to scar the green.

This is a great course. It's not an easy layout but great conditions and fast greens. I would have given five stars for pace of play but it was my group that was slowing everyone down. The three people I was playing with, while better than me, took too long to line-up every shot much less every putt. We had no one ahead of us that I could see. I let another group go ahead of us which didn't make these three very happy. Three holes later, we had another group waiting behind us. I've played this course in three and a half hours. This time it took five and I felt for everyone behind us.

I almost hate to write this review because the best kept secret in Long Island golf is The Vineyards. The club house is beautiful, the staff from Scott our starter to the guy who cleaned our clubs, to the waitress who served us some post round beers were very friendly. I felt like a member which by the way is quite reasonable to become. I had one of my best rounds ever and I contribute it to the excellent course conditions and pace of play - 3 and a half hours. I highly recommend this club. I'll be back again.
