Dunes at Kamloops Golf Club
Played On 08/25/2019Nice course, but brutally slow pace of play
Five hour round of golf, and we were surrounded by carts! Where are the course marshals? This course doesn't seem to have any. Players behind hit into us - TWICE. Nice track though, decent greens (does anyone repair ball marks anymore?!) although the bunkers were like hitting out of wet concrete. I'll come back on day where there are fewer golfers who need a lesson in golf edicate, and golf itself. By the way, please send that lady who "welcomed" in the pro shop us to golf charm school. How to put this nicely? She could use a brush up on how to cheerfully welcome the green fee players - that's what keeps courses like the Dunes open.

Very enjoyable sunny (but cold) day with pleasant playing companions. We were stuck behind some two-somes and a very slow foursome of non or beginner golfers though. The pro shop should always combine groups of two into four, encourage beginners to play from the forward tees, and have course marshals out there to encourage a decent pace of play. We were finally able to play through the beginner group on the back nine, who reluctantly let us through on the 12th.

Greens and fairways were in prime shape - it would be nice if people repaired their ball marks though. The tee boxes were pretty hacked up from a big Tournament that happened on Friday and should be moved asap. It is a shame they cut that par 5 on the back nine in half because of the houses - it was a much stronger hole then. Played the course with a friendly retired couple on carts in less than 3 1/2 hours, so pace of play was ready golf practically. The rest of the holes are a fair test, and quite enjoyable. Friendly staff and players, and a nice summer day with not too much wind, which always comes up after about 2 pm. I highly recommend this course.
Hi Karl3608843, we appreciate you taking the time to review the course and rate us. However, we're truly sorry to hear your recent experience with us may not have met expectations. Unfortunately, our staff was not able to rake the bunkers due to the overnight rain, which affected other course conditions and pace of play on the day you played as well. We appreciate your patience & understanding given the weather, but would like to invite you back for a better experience with 2 complimentary green fees. Please reach out to our Director of Golf, Bill Bilton, at (250) 579-3300 to discuss these concerns further, and we hope you'll give us another try in the future.
