My son-in-law and I played a fun Thanksgiving weekend round in 2.5 hours on a 70-degree day with a moderate breeze. The course was in very good shape and the greens were rolling fast. On a previous round the course was soggy and played long but these were ideal conditions. The course has an interest layout with several holes that played longer than they looked. The new carts and GPS were excellent and the staff quite friendly and helpful.

The course played the full distance advertised. The layout was interesting, challenging and fair. However, shots missing the fairway or the light rough found themselves in water, strategically placed bunkers and overhanging trees that made playing low or shaped shots a must. The greens were firm and the practice range and putting greens well maintained and useful.

I was visiting my son in Atlanta and booked a tee time for a foursome on GolfNow. We were all extremely pleased with the condition of the course, the excellent and challenging layout, and the welcoming staff. The greens were in especially fine condition, getting faster throughout the round as they dried out from the morning dew. The temp was high (over 90), but it was obvious the groundskeepers were on top of watering since the fairways were green and very playable during the current heat wave. The pace was a bit slow at times, mainly because the group just ahead of us were not keeping up with the players ahead of it. The course marshal could have pushed them a bit more, but we enjoyed our round, the beverage cart, and lunch afterwards. All in all, an excellent experience.

This challenging course was designed to protect the Gulf Coast wetlands surrounding it and takes advantage of the natural habitat to make for challenging targets on many holes. The first two holes bring water into play, so be ready to perform from your first tee shots. The course is well maintained and many pin placements bring the water into play if you go for it. With multiple sets of tees you can choose from a Tour length to a senior length without sacrificing the challenge of the course. This course gets better the more you play it.
