The Valley at Eastport Golf Club
Played On 07/20/2021Tough but nice
I played here today for the second time on my two week stay. I really like this place. Even though they got three inches of rain the night before they still let you drive on all but five of the fairways. There are some really menacing water hazards on several holes, so it is a real challenge for me. Really was impressed, though, with the condition of the fairways and greens.
Crown Park Golf Course
Played On 07/19/2021Very accommodating place
I wanted to take my kids and their cousins golfing yesterday. Four kids in all. The cousins’ mom was going too to help me “herd the cats”. I was nervous about calling the golf course because so many pro shop workers are not the friendliest. That was not the case here. The gentleman at Crown Park was super friendly and understanding and let us take two carts out with all the kids, on very short notice I might add. We just played nine holes. Even though they had just got dumped on by a big storm, they still let us drive on the fairways. We were the last group out, and the starter was politely waiting for us when we finally returned, after over three hours, so I tipped him big. What an awesome place! Love the course, too. Will be back here for sure.
Lion's Paw at Ocean Ridge Plantation
Played On 07/18/2021Very nice place
Tou really can’t beat this place for the money. One of the nicest places are playing in the Myrtle Beach area. The greens were putting pretty well, fairways were in great shape. Not too hard of a course, pretty challenging for all levels I would say.
Thank you for the nice five star review of Lion's Paw! We agree, this is one of the best places to visit for golfers of all skill levels. We look forward to seeing you again soon!
Eagle Nest Golf Club

I don’t want to say it was easy, because golf never is, but if you’re a high handicap, you will love this place. Hazards are present but are usually tucked out of the way. It’s not fancy. The cart paths are mostly dirt. The tee boxes aren’t groomed but they’re fine. The greens were very nice and true to your line. The bunkers seem a little messy but certainly playable. I appreciated that the holes are short, which gives me a chance to get on in reg. I’ll play here every year for sure. They did have one temporary green, but that made for an easy par, and I need all the help I can get there.

My Dad and I played yesterday for our first round of vacation. We’re high handicaps so we appreciated the short holes. It’s not all easy though, as there are several menacing water hazards. The fairways and greens were all in great shape. Bunkers were in good shape as well. Overall, I couldn’t believe how nice it was for the money. I’ll play this place again every year for sure.
Hi, tomhogge. Thank you so much for the great review. We are glad you had an incredible time, and we hope to see you again soon! Thanks for choosing The Valley at Eastport Golf Club.
Sandpiper Bay Golf & Country Club - Sand Nine
Played On 07/14/2021Rude marshal
I played with my dad today and we were paired up with a very nice father and son. Everything was going great until the marshal came by about halfway through the back nine and rudely told us we needed to pick it up. We really did not think we were holding anything up, but it made me pretty mad, and then he came by a couple holes later and did it again. We finished 18 holes in 4:20, so really not sure why he got on us. Will be my last time there.
Packsaddle Ridge Golf Course
Played On 08/23/2020A challenge but also a great deal
I am a high handicap golfer. That said, I still enjoy playing this somewhat difficult course. I have played twice now from the gold tees, and doing that makes it much more enjoyable. The grass in the fairways has been a little long, but we’ve had a very wet August. If you hit it in the rough you may as well kiss the ball goodbye. There are quite a few hazards, but once you play this course a couple times you quickly learn what you need to do to stay out of trouble. At the end of the day, if you hit generally where you’re aiming, it’s not that difficult. Just like any other course I’ve played. Yes it’s a challenge, but for the money it can’t be beat. The views on the back nine are fantastic.
Sandpiper Bay Golf & Country Club - Sand Nine
Played On 07/20/2019Good deal
Found a great deal on a Saturday morning, so my boy and I decided to check this place out. The course is surrounded by houses, but the conditions were good, and the houses were always far enough away so as not to pose much of a threat of hitting any of them. We only played the Piper nine, and the staff was great about accommodating us and allowing us to only pay for nine, even though I had booked it as 18. The fairways were wide and almost all straight, so that's good for our skill level. The pace was pretty slow, but that's good since my son takes a lot of strokes. Overall it was very nice and I'd definitely play here again.

Let me start by saying this is a casual place to go work on your short game. The conditions are pretty darned good. Nothing fancy here, just a basic layout. All the holes seem to range from 90 to 130 yards (we only played the front nine but the back looked like more of the same). The other thing I’d like to say is that it is expensive to play here with your family. Every other golf course I’ve played let’s kids play for free, but you pay per person here, and I get that they need to make money, so I’m not downing them for being that way, but I think you just need to.be aware that for a family of five to play nine holes it was right at $70, and that was walking. I mean, the walk was easy, so no big deal there; all the holes are very close together. So, for that reason, I do not think I would come here again with the whole family, but I would come back in a heartbeat to practice my short game.
Pinehills at Myrtlewood Golf Club
Played On 07/15/2019Perfect day
My son and I played here on a Monday morning. I am a high handicapper and my son is just starting out so we’re slow, but honestly the group in front of us was so slow that we fit right in and were waiting on them at every tee. The course layout is very easy for my level of ability. The greens and fairways were awesome. The only negative thing I can think to say is that the bunkers were in very poor condition. Every one I saw was waterlogged and basically unplayable. Luckily I didn’t hit into any of them anyway, but my son did twice and so he just picked up his ball each time and dropped it on the green. I’ll definitely be coming back to this beautiful place.
Crown Park Golf Course
Played On 07/13/2019Great value
I played here with my son when we first got to the beach. I booked the tee time through Tee Off, and was pleased with the rate. We practically had the place to ourselves. This course seems to be similar to the typical Myrtle Beach layout: wide open fairways, not loo long, and lots of big pine trees separating the fairways. The bunkers were in good shape, greens were very good. My only regret was I wish I had just paid for nine holes because my little guy can’t hang for 18 yet, and so it was money wasted. I would definitely play here again.
Thank you for your review, tomhogge. We will pass along your positive experience to our team at The Valley at Eastport Golf Club. We look forward to seeing you again soon.
