Highlands Reserve Golf Club
Played On 02/08/2020Nice Course
Had a Hot Deal through Golf Now. Check in was easy. Played as a twosome, early t-time, so pace was great. Course was in very good shape. Big greens, in good condition, Lots of fairway undulations which gave the course some character, NO water hazards, which was a nice change from a lot of other courses I've played in the Orlando area. You will have to go out of your way to lose a ball on this course. Which leads to the only possible negative comment, that wayward shots aren't really penalized. I enjoyed playing the course, would play it again and recommend it.
Eagle Chase Golf Club
Played On 05/16/2019interesting course
Not a course you could realistically walk. There are extreme elevation changes and several greens were a bit of a hike to get up or down to. A lot of shots were either up or down hill. Cart paths were in terrible condition.. Tee boxes were in need of some TLC. Fairways were in good shape, although a lot of up or down hill lies. There are several quirky holes, hitting to extremely elevated greens, or greens that slope away from approach shots. Greens were in great shape and fun to putt on. Nice driving range.
That being said, I enjoyed the course and the routing of the holes. It is a stand alone course, with no homes along the fairways. I would recommend playing this course as it is an interesting layout and a good challenge compared to other courses in the Charlotte area. Not a long drive, but in the middle of nowhere. Go play it.

Red Bridge Golf and Country Club
Played On 05/14/2019Nice course
Challenging layout, with lots of elevation changes. Tee boxes a little sketchy, but fairways were in good shape. Greens in excellent condition. Fun to play. Par 5 whites a little long for the +- 15 hc. I would recommend this course and would definitely play again.
Rio Pinar Golf
Played On 02/28/2014good tract
Flat ; Parkland style course.
Nice routing with tree lined fairways. Fairways had lots of grass on them and were nice to hit from. Ruff was dormant and easy to hit from. Most treed areas were an easy pitch back to the fairway, if not an "I can make that" full shot. Lots of dog legs.
The course was once a "somebody", but has had to weather the arrival of newer and longer courses. The greens are well protected with mounding, bunkers and elevation. The speed is on the fast side.
It seems to be a popular choice as we teed off on time, but took over 4&1/2 to play. It is good condition and a nice course to play. I would recommend this course and would play again with another GN rate.
White Heron Golf Club
Played On 02/27/2014Challenging course
Rained hard the day before we played, so course played a little longer from the whites. There's a reason the word Lakes is in the course name - lots of water, but fairly flat. Pace was good, probably due to cancellations as the day was a little cool and threatening rain. Fairways were good and greens were looking a little tired, but the ball rolled ok. Our foursome enjoyed the day. We would recommend this course. Fun to play, but you need to take a bail-out option in your shot planning.

First round of our vacation. Friendly staff from the Pro shop to the starter, Don. Played at 7:48 and everyone in the group liked the course. Tee's and fairways were fine. Greens were firm and rolled well. Course over all was fairly flat, but fun to play. Would definitely play again.
Grande Pines Golf Club
Played On 4/23/2013A good choice.
This is a very good golf experience, from having a cart delivered to your car, through check in, to the 19th hole after the round. On this day, range balls were provided, which gave us a chance to loosen up a bit. The starter kept things on time and we saw the course ranger on several occasions, keeping play moving. As we were keeping up with the group in front, he only stopped at our group to inquire as to how our day was going, but it was good to see that the course is on top of pace of play.
The course is fairly wide open, but has lots of fairway mounding and bunkering, to keep things interesting and challenging.
Most greens were well protected with either bunkers, or by being elevated. The greens themselves were in excellent condition and were quite fast on the day we played. There was subtle, but fair, undulation to them, which made you focus on lines and speed.
The fairways were also in excellent condition, with rough that was defined, but didn't overly penalize wayward shots. A good mix of doglegs and straight. There is water on numerous holes, but also left you with room to play with a little more caution.
It is expensive, but discounted times can be found. Played 12 courses on this trip and due to course conditions, this one was one of the top picks.
Diamondback Golf Club
Played On 4/19/2013Tight tract
This course is tight, but the back opens up a bit. Tree lined fairways - a nice change from the "resort style" courses. Lots of doglegs. Bring some "B" grade golf balls; you'll lose a few, and as the course name implies - you probably shouldn't go looking for them.
Tees were good and lots of grass on the fairways. Greens however, need some TLC, but putts roll well and true, and did not affect the round.
It's probably a 40 minute drive from the Kissimmee area. If you like trying a variety of courses on your trip, give it a try. We enjoyed the day there.
Deer Island Country Club
Played On 4/13/2013Nice Course
The course was in very good condition. Lots of water hazards that made things challenging. Numerous forced carry shots that requires concentration. Greens were nice to putt on and well protected by water or sand. Fairways were in good condition with lots of grass and well maintained. A bit of a drive (+/- 1 hr) from Kissimmee area, but worth the effort. Seems to be in an upscale neighbourhood / area and as it's named, is on an Island, hense lots of wildlife, making it an interesting place to play. Well worth the effort, especially if you can find a good rate.
Thank you for the 5-star review! We appreciate the recommendation!
