Colvend Golf Club
Played On 08/20/2021Nice wee challenging course.
The Locals call the first hole "Cardiac Hill", you wont need a degree to work out why when you get there!
Lovely wee course that needs a lot of thought to get your ball in the right position to allow an attack to half of the holes.
Only downside was that non of us could get the pace of the greens as they played pretty slow on the day.
Would defo catch on quicker next time and aim beyond holes.
Defo one we will play again when back in the area.
White Heron Golf Club
Played On 04/02/2018Great Value for a good Challenge
Played here several times now when in Florida, the course is a good challenge for all levels of golfer.
Booked it through Golf Now and it was superb value for money.
Give this a go whenever you are looking for a game, you won’t regret it!
Lochwinnoch Golf Club
Played On 05/01/2017A Wee Gem that's worth ALL the effort.
If you like to test yourself on a truly challenging course that requires every type of shot in your bag, then Lochwinnoch is a great course for real Shot-Makers. When we played it, the general agreed comment was that no two holes even resemble each other. We found 18 almost completely different types of hole throughout our round.
As another reviewer said, from around holes 12 to 15 you do have a few hills to traverse, but these holes will either make or break your round.
The opening hole only yielded one par within our group of well experienced and competent golfers -It is one of the hardest dog-log, slightly uphill opening holes you will come across anywhere.
Fairways were, sloping but in nice condition and the greens were in very nice condition, but very, very testing on the reads.
I'm sure even the low-handicap members like to see that one safely behind them as the start a medal or comp.
Even if your card was "avergie!" like mine, you will at least be rewarded with some awesome views, especially in the middle of your round.
All four of us agreed that it is one course we will be returning to try and tame very soon.
One thing that shone out loud and bright was the friendliness of everyone from the staff to those we passed/met out on the course and afterwards.
Well done to all concerned, as it certainly added to the enjoyment of my day - even with the final card numbers I had.
See you soon Lochwinnoch.
Willowbrook Golf Course
Played On 11/19/2014Good to get you started.
Have played willowbrook before.
You get what you pay for. It's a decent wee layout with good greens and friendly staff. My brother and I play it as our starter warm up course every year on holiday.
Staff make you very welcome and nothing is too much bother for them.
