The Club at Eaglebrooke
Played On 03/14/2021Best course in Lakeland
Play here a couple of times a month but would play everyday if I could. Always challenging, with consistently good conditions. Doesn’t hurt to get a Hot Deal.

Been playing HR regularly for 5 yrs and this is the worst conditions it’s ever been. Maybe they’re suffering from low volume of play so they can’t afford irrigation? I hope HR can turn it around this summer bc there’s a lot of competition in Davenport.

This is the best public course in Lakeland, so go play!
Hi Brian, thank you so much for your review! We are happy to hear you enjoyed our course. We value your feedback, and hope to see you back soon.

If you plan on playing here during the weekend, check wth the pro desk to see if there are any large groups going out ahead of you. We didn’t check an ended up behind a men’s club that took 5 1/2 hours to complete their round. I understand why a course wouldn’t want to volunteer that kind of info, but they’re doing a disservice to other golfs and will eventually pay the price for their lack of Marshals and regard for regular paying customers. We won’t be back, because there are too many other great courses in the area that manage their courses better. Player beware!

After booking on Golfnow, I thought a drama free round was assured, but thanks to a lack of course staff, we had issues. The young woman in the office that checked me in failed to inform me that a small tournament with a shotgun start was beginning on all holes of the front nine. Luckily one of the competitors suggested we go start on 10 and finish on the front nine, presumably after the tournament was over. That kinda worked, but was an unnecessary annoyance. If your course is hosting a tournament, then please don’t sell any conflicting tee times. Sounds like common sense, but maybe the course is hurting for money and won’t turn anyone away. Play at your own risk.

With all the talk about work being done to this course, I thought I’d check it out. Well, they are indeed working on the course, so there are plenty of areas that would currently keep this course out of my regular rotation. There are better deals out there if you’re a serious golfer, but if you just want to hit the ball around for a decent price, then maybe you’ll enjoy this easily accessible tract.

If HH would hire a starter and/or on-course ranger, then this would be an enjoyable course to play. Until then, don’t plan your outing at HH, unless you don’t have time constraints or just want to get outside for 5 or 6 hours. I was told by another group that League play happens on the weekend, but nobody in the pro shop mentioned that fact. Golfer beware

Overall this course was a pleasure to play. Despite an apparent over-seeding of the fairways, the conditions were great. If you're playing on the weekend, don't expect to be finished in under 5.5 hours. Will play this course again, but it'll have to be during the work week when everyone else is at work.
Copper Mill Golf Club
Played On 06/14/2014Marshals needed...or a good Starter
If you want to play a good course, and aren't in a hurry, then this is a great course. I realize that there is a lot of competition between courses to get tee times, and that budgets are tight; but the pace of play at Copper Mill needs to be improved, or it'll be gone someday soon. The bottle necks on the course are inexcusable, because there are no Marshal's no move groups along. Copper Mill, if you're reading this, please do a better job at managing the golfers that are willing to play our course. Thanks!

The service is second to none and the course is always in excellent condition. One of the best practice areas in Louisiana.
We're sorry to learn you did not enjoy your experience this time around. Since you've been to our course over the year we hope you'll know the fairways and tees were in transition from winter rye. We're back on track and the course is going to look better and better. We hope you'll give us another shot soon.
