From tee to green, this course is pristine! I know there’s a regional amateur tournament in a week, so a friend & I decided to get out to Round Rock and play this track. It was obviously a good decision as the greens & fairways are in great condition.

Vaaler Creek GC has been a little gem tucked away in the beautiful Texas hill country for awhile now, although I've only known of its existence for a few years now. Even in these hot, dry conditions the greens rolled true, and the fairways were pristine. The design was challenging; many approaches were to greatly elevated targets and some landing areas off the tee seemed dauntingly narrow. Overall, Vaaler Creek was a challenging track worth every dollar in the modest green fee. It is also conveniently close to the Real Ale Brewery tap room- minutes away.

Greens and fairways are in good shape. I've always enjoyed the design of Shadowglen. The course claims to have access to GPS via website for yardage purposes, but no one in my group was able to access the feature throughout the course of play. Without access to accurate yardage, the course proves even more challenging...
