The Links At Mustang Creek Golf & Country Club
Played On 01/01/2023Will be back
This course is only a few miles from the house, and being only 9 holes, we have refrained from checking it out as the Mrs. wants to get that different 18 and be further out away from the clutter of the city if she can get it.
Anyway, on Jan. 1, mother nature gave us a great day to be out, and it had been a while since we played due to the weather on our available days to play. So, I said let's just get out, go here and play 9 and take advantage of the weather.
While we have played the other Lindsey courses at Norman and Stillwater, I guess we had a closed mind as what to expect here. But this course provided more than expected.
It is still a good course, and yes, you might as well keep that driver in the bag if you waver outside the fairway. We learned a lesson or two on a few of the holes, when we play this course again when the weather warms up, we will play them differently.
Overall, we were more than happy with the course, pace, greens, etc... we were even behind a group of 5 and the pace was still good.
If you can catch the hot deal times, it is a great value course. We will be back sometime soon.
WinStar Golf Course - Scissortail
Played On 06/28/2022Better than expected
Course in great shape..greens were good ad the pace was excellent. The only drawback was a couple of holes were cart path only..but needed the exercise.
Will return again for sure

Course in great shape...greens are good with all the rain this summer
Black Mesa Golf Club
Played On 06/25/2021Its Back
Well, you read earlier reviews about its problems in the past, but they seem to be no longer an issue. Just a few miles from Sante Fe and it was an alternate choice for us since the casino course was having a fundraiser on our day.
Words of advice... if you play from the tips, you better be straight with the driver or you will spend your time looking for your ball in the brush with the snakes..Our playing partners on this day spent a lot of time and lost balls as they couldn't keep it in the fairway. So, choose your tees correctly.
Also, bring plenty of golf balls if you spray the ball or it is windy, like it did on our back nine as it becomes more difficult than what it is.
The pace was slow due to lots of looking and waiting but that seems to be the norm they said.
The course is routed around mesas so there was a few unique holes..
IF in the Sante Fe area, it would be worth the drive to play.
Arrowhead Golf Club

The final Colorado 3 course for us and again, it certainly disappoint at all. As you probably know, the sandstone formations is the highlight of this one.
Lots of good camera shots while waiting as the pace was slow and even when the marshall told the group ahead of us 2x to pick up the pace, it really didn't do any good.
Overall the price was a tad high, and it drops of course for twilight, but then you run the risk of afternoon showers in the summer.
Would definitely play again.
The Golf Club at Bear Dance

This was our 2nd course of our Colorado golf trip and this one was as good as the first and more enjoyable. Paired up locals and that helped. I am not sure I had a flat, even lie and that is always a challenge.
There are some very interesting holes with the views to match. Greens were pretty fast and the pins in places that the locals say are never there and they were even having problems the break.
Again, the theme is undalations and going up or down a hill and it is a mental challenge to get it right where you need to go.

Been planning this for quite awhile and it didn't disappoint at all... just wished I played better on the holes you see on the website.
Being Father's Day, it was booked and the pace was slow as you would think...no marshall coming around to speed things up which was needed.
Friendly staff and the overall setup was great. I would definitely play this again if I had the chance.
Stone Creek at Page Belcher Golf Course
Played On 05/29/2021except for greens
tough winter and greens not back yet....if we get warm weather and close it down for a short time for the grass to take hold, it would be ideal..
Northwood Hills Golf Course
Played On 03/18/2021rolling wet
rolling hills, cloudy skies and north wind, and cart path only led to a long but decent round. Mother nature won today but I would come back under different conditions.
A few of the greens were a little thin but just coming out of a late winter storm so it is what is..
I loved the topography as we don't see this much back home.
Friendly staff.
Shangri-La Country Club - Champions Course
Played On 10/17/2020Good First Impression
First time visitor to the area and the review is great. It was a part of leaf viewing trip and some of the best views occurred here. The course was in great shape..
The fairways were perfect, the greens fast, and the sand was soft.
It was extremely windy, 25+, so it was difficult day scoring to say the least.
We finished up on the signature hole and that was a good capper to the day.
We will be going back soon as the mrs was really impressed with the conditions and the area
Chickasaw Pointe Golf Club
Played On 10/15/2020Good views and good golf
First time visitor the course, and it might become a staple when visiting the area.
Very challenging holes and with the wind blowing 20+, made the scoring tough.
Good start to the course, but the challenges were plenty.
A few holes get the view and that was good.
Would like to play when the wind is calmer, but overall, a good day on the course.
The Shoals Golf Club - Fighting Joe Course
Played On 06/26/2020Beating the rain
With rain on the horizon that morning, we still decided to go and get in as much as possible. We arrived early in hopes of getting off early and we could just go...
So, with a 40 minute head start on our round, and being the only ones out there, we zipped around in less than 3 hours and after a little shopping, we left to mist and then the rain came... talk about luck.
Anyway, the course was fun... lots of elevation changes, the greens were good. With the exception of the 2nd hole on the tee box arrangements and signage, it was all good. For the women, their tee boxes were far from the cart trail and the Mrs was a little perturbed at that.
Also, you never go near the clubhouse on this course, so gratefully the cart girl was working and able to get water to drink
Tidewater Golf Club
Played On 06/24/2020great views
Of he two, Caledonia and now Tidewater, I prefer the latter. Its better set up for all golfers. The views were great of the sound and the difficulty of the course was manageable.
We were paired up with a local and one that had played it before and they were great, that made the round more enjoyable.
Some very fun par 3's and the slight elevation changes were good.
Caledonia Golf & Fish Club
Played On 06/23/2020Finally
We chose Caledonia to be the course for South Carolina in our quest to play golf in all 50 states. We knew this was going to be a challenge and it was of course. All the reviews are spot on. The staff was great and the course was long as was told by the starter.
Just by luck, we didn't have to pair up with anybody, so, it was a leisurely morning and the Mrs was happy. The Mrs.had a great day for her and I stuggled.
Eagle Chase Golf Club
Played On 06/21/2020Must play
After reading reviews, we chose this course on our trip through North Carolina on our way to Myrtle. It was on Fathers Day and we had an early tee time and not paired up, so the pace was good, even with a foursome ahead of us.
It has lots of elevation changes, rolling hills and that is always more fun and a challenge and on this day..trying to avoid 2 skunks making their way across the tee box. LOL
Topstone Golf Course
Played On 07/11/2019By Far, Best Course on Trip
The final leg of our NE golf trip, was at this course. Had an early tee time on the Sr. special and was paired up with a couple of local players and that in itself, really made the round fun and had local knowledge on top of that.
The course was in great shape and the pace of play was good …
One of the best things about this course is that when you hit it off the fairway, you have a good chance of finding the ball.
There were some interesting holes... 10 and 18 come to mind with the elevation rolls..
After the round, had lunch in the grill and the food was good and the waitress friendly.

Thunderhart Golf Course
Played On 07/10/2019Off the beaten path
Siri had a little hiccup on this one, but we did find it after awhile.
it was a tale of different 9's as the back 9 was flat but the front was much better with the rolling hills and elevation changes.
They had us starting off the back due to a tourney, and that was ok...
But, at a previous stop on the vacation, a 4 group let the twosome ahead of us go through, but not us...and we sat and wait on the last 6 holes on the back 9... needless to say they were not the best players and it did provide some comic relief...luckily, they stopped after 9, so we moved to the front 9 nine and had clear sailing and enjoyed this side much more.
Mount Snow Golf Club
Played On 07/09/2019Great Weather... Great Course.
Used my golf now rewards to make this a great deal. The weather was perfect, had lunch before starting and enjoyed the views.
The course was in great shape. The pace of play was good. The challenges of the course was good. We don't get to play courses that have the elevation changes and the up and downs in the fairways back home.
#1 is a good start and we both knew then that we chose good for our course to play in Vermont.
Aced this place
This course has its rough spots but looks like they are working to get in shape. There was plenty of elevation changes and the greens were in good shape.
You do not pass the clubhouse after 9, so they do have a cart girl that comes around.
The one bad mark on the day is the locals who cut in at 10... we had been following a twosome the whole front 9 and when we get to 10, we are now following a 4some. I guess they let the first twosome go through, but not us, so the back nine got kinda slow at times as a few of them probably went through a dozen golf balls.
The highlight of the round was the Ace on the par 3 107 7th... it is slightly uphill and we thought that the ball just went over a ridge on the green...
we got to the green and when we didn't see the ball on the green, we realized what happened!!!!! WooHoo My first
Crystal Lake Golf Club
Played On 07/06/2019Trying to beat the rain
Got an early tee time to try and beat the rain this day. There was a some type of tourney getting ready to start at 8am, so the starter jumped us to #2 to get ahead of them, so it was clear sailing until we made the turn and caught up with others that obviously went off the back 9 first for the same reason of avoiding the tourney.. but we still played in less than 3 hours.
Best set of holes on the course is 3-5 and love that #4 downhill to the lake.
Other than that set, its a little rough around the edge but as long as the fairways are in decent shape and the greens are good, then to us, that is a good course.
We are so happy you enjoyed your round! We love hearing from golfers who enjoy the challenge and the wildlife. We look forward to seeing you on your next trip, and thanks for choosing @EagleChaseGolf.
