Outstanding Course

Red Hawk Ridge is an outstanding course. Every hole is distinct and very interesting. There are huge elevation changes throughout. There are some very challenging holes including a 650 yard par 5 and a 530 yard par 4 (holes 7 and 15), but there are quite a few easy holes to make up for it (1, 2, 16). There are also a couple great risk/reward holes (8, 18). A few of my favorite holes were 1, 4, 14 and 18. Easily one of my favorite courses that I have played in Colorado. The conditions were great and the greens were pretty fast. The pace of play was excellent for a Sunday afternoon.

Excellent Value, My Go To Course

CU National is an excellent value. It is my go to course and I have played it more than any other course in Colorado. The layout is very diverse and interesting with lots of elevation change and some really great hole designs (Particularly 1, 10, 14 and 17). The course always looks very good, the greens sometimes need a little work. The afternoon deals are amazing (25-35$ including cart). The only draw back is that the pace of play is extremely slow in the afternoon when the deals are good.

All in all CU national, along with Riverdale Dunes is the best value in the north Denver area.

Mediocre Course, There are better values in the area

I usually play eagle trace a couple times a year because you can get some good deals. The course is very average and the layout is not that interesting. The back nine (4 stars) is far better than the front (2 stars) with some interesting holes like 10, 11, 13, and 18. The driving range is pretty cool (you get to hit into a lake). The course can get backed up and from my experience, the other patrons can be quite rude (and/or drunk).

Wonderful Views, Challenging Course

I like to get out to arrowhead at least once a year (usually in the off season because it can get very pricey). The views of the red rocks are amazing and the wild life is abundant. In addition, the course is very fun with many risk/reward holes and tons of elevations change. Holes 10 (pictured) and 13 are two of my favorite holes in Colorado.

I was pleasantly surprised at how nice the course conditions were in April.
