Corballis Golf Links
Played On 7/23/2013Excellent value as an introduction to links golf
Course is an old style links with 14 very good links style holes. It was originally an 9 hole course stretched to 18. Four of the holes are really add ons and do not measure to rest of the holes. As we are having a heat wave the course was very burnt with little or no greenery on fairways. There was a strong wind blowing which made ball control difficult. Ball ran a long way and invariably finished in the rough which was quite penal. Not many playing so round was quite fast despite a few stops to look for your ball. To get a taste of links this is a good test, but would wait till rains come before playing again. Club House basic with good stock of golf gear and snacks available.
Tullamore Golf Club
Played On 7/16/2013Excellent Parkland course with many Specimen Trees on it. Just an hour from Dublin
Played course on a beautiful day in warm sunshine. Course was very well presented with green in excellent condition and fairways well defined. Good variety of holes and Par 3's are excellent. Welcome from staff and members was very cordial and we felt at home there very quickly. Every effort was made to meet our requirements by staff and members. We had to wait for a buggy so missed our tee time. Despite being allowed to play during ladies competition when we approached the first tee, two groups of ladies called us through. It was a pleasure to play and enjoy the views and the many trees.
Excellent putting green and driving range adjacent to Club House. This was capped by a small chipping green near 1st Tee. Club house old style and gents changing room in need of a face lift etc. Food was excellent and modestly priced. A course I would return to again.
