Burlington Springs Golf Club
Played On 11/06/2014a good walk, spoiled
It was my first visit and I was impressed. The clubhouse and pro shop staff were friendly, the price was great , and it was not crowded at all. The front nine wasn't too exciting, lots of straight fairways parallel to each other, but the back was more interesting, The whole course was in great shape and I was excited about coming back again. That all changed on the 17th where I had the misfortune of meeting an angry man(owner? manager?) who has no business working with the public. As I tried to fish out the 2 balls I had hit into the pond, he drove up in his silver SUV and told me once they went into the pond they were his and I had to move on. Now I get as frustrated as anyone when the group in front of me spends an extra long time looking for a ball, but in this case the course was half empty and the group behind us was 4 holes back. I was absolutely shocked. I skipped the last hole, returned the cart to the friendly guy in the pro shop, and left. I will definitely never go back.
Granite Ridge Golf Club - Cobalt
Played On 11/04/2014Very wet but a nice course
I played the ruby course and was impressed. It was on the cool side and we ran into some rain so had to give up after 13 holes. It was still worth it with the great discount from golf now. Would love to try it again in better weather. My only complaint was the sprinklers. I guess they were draining the system for the fall. Random bursts of air/water continued throughout our round, often soaking us while we putted. Overall they probably made us wetter than the rain did. Even so it was a great couse and I will be back.
Royal Niagara Golf Club - Escarpment Course
Played On 09/12/2014very challenging
Great course. I'm not a low handicapper so I found it very tough, but fair. A lot of strategically placed creeks and bunkers penalize you when you try to be aggressive but don't hit the perfect shot. Greens could have been better cared for, but they were fast with lots of breaks. Great deal on golfnow.
Acton Golf Club
Played On 09/05/2014worth the drive
Shorter course that lets you reach greens in regulation even if you are not a long hitter. Some tough pin placements on mounded greens led to a lot of 3 putt greens. Fairly laid back course let me play as a single so I finished in under 2 and a half hours.
Cardinal Lakes Golf Club - Sparrow Course
Played On 07/19/2014great value
Some challenging holes, soft lush fairways, fast greens, lots of water, decent tee boxes, not too long. The only problem I had was where to go. No map on the scorecard and no hole layouts at the tees left first time visitors unsure of where to hit.
Overall lots to like. I will definitely be back.
Dunnville Golf and Country Club
Played On 07/12/2014pleasantly surprised
We got a great deal on golfnow on a weekend on a beautiful summer day, so I wasn't expecting anything great. Friendly staff and a well kept course made it worth the drive to the the thriving metropolis of Dunville. All the various tee boxes they used to make a 9 hole course into 18 were confusing, and could have been better marked, but for $11 for 18 holes with a cart, there wasn't much to complain about.
Oakville Executive Golf Course - Mystic Ridge
Played On 06/23/2014great value
Not a long course but some challenging holes. The greens weren't real fast but in great shape. Great value with Golfnow.
Brock Golf Course
Played On 05/31/2014Good family course/ Great value
The course was short but but lots of well placed trees and very fast greens made it anything but easy. They make an effort to cater to the average Joe so everything about the day was very relaxed. I took my daughter out. She's new to the game but I didn't feel the usual pressure to hurry her along. Even so we played 18 in about two and a half hours.
Royal St. Cloud Golf Links - Red/White Course
Played On 01/04/2014A great experience
After playing several courses near Disney I decided to play this course. It was well worth the drive. The course was in great shape, the staff were friendly, and with the golfnow discount it was a great deal. I was hoping to test out the range time that was included but it was closed. The staff were great though and let me tee off an hour early for my twilight time so I got in a few extra holes.
Disney's Oak Trail Golf Course
Played On 01/02/2014slow, but great value.
A nice little 9 hole walking course. Not easy by any means, and a great value through Golfnow. I wouldn't pay the regular prices, a little steep, particularly when the course is crowded.
Legends on the Niagara Golf Course - Chippawa
Played On 8/30/2013great value,excellent par 3 course
I loved my visit to Chippawa. The staff was friendly, the price with golfnow was great, and the course was challenging and well cared for. It was a little wet but that was Mother Nature's fault. I definitely will be back.
Thank you for the great feedback!
Deer Run Golf Course
Played On 08/21/2013Bring lots of balls.
Playing this course for the first time was difficult. Poor signage and scorecard map made it easy to get lost. Some holes were ridiculously easy, others incredibly hard. Front nine was almost all in one wide open field, not too impressive. The back nine has the potential to be great but it needs some work. Lots of elevated tees, narrow fairways, and bugs. It seems like they are having a hard time deciding whether to be a cheap friendly family course, or a professional expensive one, but ultimately they haven't succeeded at being either.
Emerald Pines Golf Club
Played On 6/8/2013Great value, even after the course was flooded.
I played this course after 3 days of torrential rain. One hole was completely underwater from tee to green. Three holes were closed but still had a good day. Great service from the staff and an interesting layout means I'll be back to try it again when the floodwaters recede.
I had a similar bad experience with a female owner Barb. I won't be golfing the springs this 2015 season. Maybe I'll return next year. Too bad, because I actually really enjoyed the course.
