Old Orchard Country Club
Played On 09/06/2019Nice layout- great value
Enjoyed the layout and approach shots into the greens. This is a nice looking course with fair fairways and greens. The rough is tough, the fairway bunkers are well placed and the water hazards are very fair.
Our pace of play was good. I’d only suggest a better cleaning of geese debris around the course.
Makray Memorial Golf Club
Played On 08/01/2019Nice, serious golf course and facility
Great, beautiful place. All around. Very well maintained and challenging layout. We play here often and we’re never disappointed with the experience. Except- the greens are tough enough without them having to be stimped over 10. Most down hill putts are impossible to stop anywhere near the hole. For most that play the course you’d want to keep that tough but not super tough to the point of too much frustration..

Played On 05/04/2018Really nice golf course.....
Very fair lay out with a number of holes that are nice to look at and make you think. Tough approaches with reasonable elevated greens. Greens ran true. This is a fun golf course that is a pleasure to play. We are single digit handicappers and picky. We will be back here. Their senior rates are good.
Cary Country Club
Played On 04/28/2018Oh Boy
The staff was nice and we took a few pictures on top of a couple scenic bluffs. That’s about it. Poorly maintained, annoying blinds shots, bad greens. The greens are ridiculous. Just about every put was unduly undulating and with “cement “for the surface of all the greens a three footer would run 5 feet past if not more. Our round was not enjoyable. We almost walked off. The course is bad.

Played On 04/24/2017Keeps Your Interest
This course is very nice visually and requires course management on most of the holes. You cannot just aim and fire. Course layout certainly is fun and well thought out. Greens are lighting fast and at times impossible to stop the ball at the whole. 4-8 foot roll outs were common. The back nine, esp. holes 15,16,17,18 are tough finishing holes. Had a lot of fun playing the course and will definitely return.

Played On 04/18/2017Our Winter Swing Favorite
Our winter swing tournament ends here. What a great track. Very well kept, fair but enough undulations in the greens and bail out areas to keep you thinking. Well placed traps and much wildlife to gaze at through out the course. Love this place.
Cypress Course at Stonegate Golf Club
Played On 04/17/2017Nice track
This is a fun course to play in a nice friendly setting. On occasion it got slow but not to an aggravating level. Love the hole variety and fairness of the greens. We play here on our winter swing every year.

Played On 04/13/2017Open Links, Big Greens, Well Manicured
This course was in great shape when we played it. Great variety in hole architecture. Well thought out bunkers and approaches to the greens.
Course management a must on many holes, especially with the wind.
Greens are undulating but roll true. Play it every year a couple times on our winter golf trip.
Lake Bluff Golf Club
Played On 08/03/2016This is a nice golf course
Fair, challenging enough, scorable and in great condition. A very enjoyable round. Well maintained course that has fair and fun approaches to most of the greens. The greens are challenging being fairly fast but they run true. Pin placements were thoughtful and sand was good. The rough is tough but not to the point of not being able to find your ball. We are happy to play here again and will return.
Settler's Hill Golf Course
Played On 10/06/2015Poor green design
Greens are not "player friendly." Way too much slope and speed. If you're going to have greens like these, you should not cut them so short. Putting was not enjoyable or fair. Lost interest when getting to the greens. High frustration factor.
Hi Daniel,
We are sorry to hear you were frustrated playing our course. We want all our golfers to have an enjoyable round when playing at Settler's Hill. We are hoping you will give us another shot in the future.
Settler's Hill Golf Course
Played On 10/06/2015Carnival-like greens
Despite the fact that the staff was friendly, the fairways were nice, the elevations were scenic and pleasant, the golf experience on this course is ruined by ridiculous undulations on the greens. When you go for a birdie from 8 feet, barely touch the putt and end up with the ball rolling 15 feet off the green (several times) that ain't fun. Looking at the green surfaces on the vast majority of the holes it is difficult to find a fair placement for the cup. Since the vast majority of golfers here are over 10 handicappers how fun is it to defensively putt on almost every green and be satisfied with a 3 putt? The greens are not reasonable and are not fair and we will not be back nor recommend this course to anyone.

Played On 08/27/2015Pleasant and fun
Nicely maintained with very pleasant surroundings make this an enjoyable and fun round of golf. Just enough of a challenge on a variety of fair and nicely laid out holes.
Arboretum Golf Club
Played On 08/05/2015Great value for a nice golf course
Course was in very nice condition throughout. Staff was very friendly and welcoming. Tight but very fair front nine. The back felt as if we were on vacation and has some very nice views. Traps were in good shape and greens ran true. Best value in the area for this type of course.
Bittersweet Golf Club
Played On 07/02/2015Awkward
This was an awkward and uncomfortable golf course. The staff, amenities, condition generally were fine, but the design of the course did not make for a fun round. With 6 foot plus cat tails blocking your shot sight on a number of holes, blind fairway shots with elevated greens angled backwards I found shots in to be unnecessarily onerous.
The Club at Eaglebrooke

Nice course with big, quick greens.
Would definitely play here again.
We will be happy to see you back again as well!
Buffalo Grove Golf Course
Played On 04/11/2014Average
Average course with good value specials. They need to stay on top of slow play here to ensure repeat play. Back nine is well laid out and greens ran true, despite aeration. Course is otherwise well run.
Southern Dunes Golf & Country Club
Played On 04/03/2014Very enjoyable golf course
We play a string of courses every year and add a special course each time. This course now tops our list. We are serious players who like to have fun and this course provides both. Great layout, fast, undulating greens and great aesthetics makes this course a must play.
Providence Golf Club
Played On 04/02/2014Nice track but couple comments
A beautiful entrance, clubhouse and nice staff. GREAT STARTING HOLES BUT THEN A BIT OF MONOTONY SET IN. Then I began to notice the sparse grass and dry hard pan resulting in tough lies on the fairways. Wide fairways are forgiving but often I had better lies in the rough. The greens ran quick and had challenging slope. They ran true and we're fair. THE SURROUNDINGS WERE PLEASANT ENOUGH AND THE ALLIGATORS PRESENT IN MANY OF THE PONDS WERE FUN FOR US OUT OF TOWNERS.
The development seems to be on the rise and despite the construction it was encouraging to see a development prosper versus most of the older, worn and dreary places we played in the area.
This course is 7 years old and hopefully will grow in more in the next couple years.
If some type of variety, such as a few well placed tree lines or moguls were added this will become a must play staple in Central Florida.
We will return next year with anticipation.
St. Petersburg Country Club
Played On 01/18/2014Shades of the old days........
A nice feeling playing on a course that has retained a good, old country club atmosphere. The course seemed long and the winding in and around neighborhoods was charming but also a bit disenchanting. Hard to explain. The last few holes may have been worth the trip down, but most of the day the holes were kind of ho-hum. The course is tougher that one might think if you can't keep it in the fairway. You will lose balls if you don't size up the carry distances on the water holes. With wind the course plays tough and you'll be hitting hybrids into hard to hold greens.
Lake Jovita Golf & Country Club - North Course
Played On 01/16/2014A test
Very nice track. Unfortunately we played in cold and very windy conditions and this was the first course on our 4 day trip. The course is a test in any event, excepting #11 which was a crazy hole. The course is well kept. Unnecessarily speedy greens (12-13) we were told in addition to hard to read slants and slopes. We should have played this course last and under better weather conditions to enjoy it more. We may try it next trip.
Thank you for playing at Foxford Hills! We appreciate the positive feedback and hope to see you back soon to give us a chance to earn that 5th star!
