Don’t play here until late May. Nine holes were closed and the nine that were open 5-13 were just punched and sanded. Basically unplayable. The staff apologized as the aeration was earlier than they were told. The nine hole closure led to issues at the turn as they tried to stagger those players turning with those starting. Made for a long day. The layout of this course is strong and interesting, so definitely play it. Just wait for the greens to recover.

Confusing layout out from green to next tee. No signage. If you haven’t played here you may spend some extra time finding next tee box. Course in rough shape. Greens recently pinched but lots of bald places on a few. Slow. Layout is typical Donald Ross, but the road noise along I294 holes is deafening. Literally. Way too noisy. Glad I saw it, but no reason to go back.

Beautiful Wednesday produced full tee sheet but they kept cramming more and more people out there. Pace very slow. Marshals were present but didn’t do much. People hitting into each other a lot. Greens in great shape. Not yet punched, smooth and fast. Tee boxes chewed up on par threes. Disappointing. This is my favorite Illinois course and I won’t go back.

Great senior rate at 22 dollars to walk. Corse in great shape even after a day of heavy rain. Tough par threes and some par 4s over 410 Great track. Pull carts $5 and power carts available.

This Don Cook track is a gem. Walkable. Many different looks. No two holes even similar. Short number 5 is perilous. The course is in great shape. Precision over power but length is a plus on 9. Try your best to stay even par in the hollow. Have fun. It’s that good.

Good layout. Tough. Pace of play way too slow. 5 hours through 16 holes. Unmarshalled. Should be better for the 150 plus green fee.
