Falcon's Fire Golf Club
Played On 06/20/2021Good track for high handicap players
The course is wide open and forgiving. for the group that doesn't play much, this course will suit you fine. The greens were mostly healthy but slow, running around an 8 or 9. fairways were good but needed mowed. over all condition needs attention. Practice facilities weren't good.
Great bar and clubhouse. plenty of nice merchandise.
Streamsong Resort - Black Course
Played On 06/18/2020Fantastic links track with a Stranz feel.
As I went around this amazing links track. I felt like Mike Stranz Had been raised from the dead and designed another 5 star track. Every shot had a risk reward feel. . The greens were huge, with multiple tiers. They rolled as true as any course I’ve played. 12 or 13., They were quick. The clubhouse felt like we were hanging out in the latest james bond flick. Staff was extremely welcoming and helpful. This is a bucket list destination that lives up to the hype. Ps. Make sure you stop before 10 and get the lobster roll. It was simple but perfect on a hot and humid day.
Slammer and Squire Golf Course at World Golf Village
Played On 06/16/2020Great track that can be played long and short
Played two times this week. The greens had been punched about 10 days prior but still rolled around a 9 and true. The sand traps and fairways were perfect. Fun track over all. Would definitely play again.
Royal New Kent Golf Club
Played On 04/06/2019Back from the dead! This Stranz course is ready for your best shot.
Our day started around 0730 in New Bern, NC. 250 miles from Royal New Kent. And now 250 miles enroute back to New Bern, my body is tired but my enthusiasm towards Mike Stranz course designs is at an all time high. I was estactic when I read in Forbes that the Royal New Kent had been purchased and would be re opening after an extensive overhaul which included the addition of new monster champion Bermuda greens. The course was terrific. It had rained a lot over the past week but the new drainage system was doing it’s work. I did make the mistake of playing the Invictas tees. I am a low handicap golfer and with the soft conditions this was a bit more than my game could handle. Go play this course. It is a classic Stranz track and It needs your suppor! you won’t be disappointed..
Hi there - thank you for the 5 stars!
Anderson Creek Golf Club
Played On 03/03/20191st time at Anderson Creek.. Loved it
The surroundings of this course is perfect. Greens were lightning fast. Bermuda fairways still dormant in May, but the sand hills soil allows you to make great contact on the ball where the fairways are bare. Really enjoyed the elevation changes and monster greens and over all Davis Love layout. We'll plan a trip here in late April. May try their stay and play as they have a great condo / pool area for guests..
Bali Hai Golf Club
Played On 03/03/2019A great track in central Vegas
From the moment we stepped onto the property we were taken good care off. Excellent staff from start to finish. The course was in great shape considering the season. The greens were fast and true. The fairways were excellent. The location is very convenient so you can sneak in a. Early round while everyone else is sleeping. Our round took right at 4 hours. We rarely waited all day. Don’t hesitate to book at Bali Hai, you will love it.

Played On 11/11/2018Such a great layout.. needs more play to keep it up
I've been playing Scotch Hall a few times a year since 2014. I was surprised to see the condition of the course this time around. The greens had gotten away from them and the bunkers hadn't been worked in a good amount of time. Now keep in mind, this is one of the wettest falls we've had on the coast of NC in sometime, so i am hopeful that they will get it back to the pristine condition it once was. The track is still worth the drive, the views are top notch.
Thistle Golf Club - Cameron Course
Played On 11/10/2018You can count on Thistle to be one of the best around Myrtle Beach
After weeks of rain up and down the Carolina coasts, we found Thistle to be absolutely playable. The fairways were a little long from not being able to mow but the greens were about as perfect as you can get for a mid November round. Thistle never disappoints. All other courses around were too wet to play.
Black at Bethpage State Park Golf Course
Played On 10/07/20181st time at Bethpage Black - 5 stars
Very good experience. My day started when I arrived around 3:30am to wait on my golden ticket. You can opt to book your tee time online but it’s hard to get an early round. I also wanted the full experience, so I show up at 0330 and I find 16 other guys already waiting in front of me. By the time the Marshall came around there were probably 60 vehicles that had shown up. The locals were very friendly and helpful. The greens had been punched a week before but there was very little signs. They rolled true (a little slow) and the fairways were rewarding. Stay out of the rough. Even cut back, it’s a game changer. I can’t wait for my next visit. I highly recommend this course to any mid to low handicap player.
Occano
Played On 02/24/2018Best course in Eastern North Carolina
Great track that is playable year round. Be prepared for 3 tiered greens that are pga quality (Fast and true). Wind also plays a major role. Don’t be surprised if you are hitting a 125 yard 7 iron Into the wind or a 165 yard 9 iron when the wind is at your back. Beautiful course that will challenge the greatest golfer. Keep your head up though, so you can bask in the surroundings, where bald eagles and other wild life is plentiful.
