We got 11 holes in while dodging rain storms. The last one got us. Decided to head to their bar and grab a few beers. Course was in pretty good shape and you could fly the balls to the hole and they were sticking. Fairways were very tight and you have to be a good ball striker. Make sure you leave a little time for the 19th hole. Great beer selection and had a girl singing live music on the back deck. Didn’t worry with a rain check since I was visiting from out of town.

I had heard about this course from several contacts and they talked about all the holes that were displayed. Had an opportunity to play and it didn't disappoint. Realizing it's winter and grass isn't growing as much as July, I was still surprised with the great lies and how soft the greens were. Many greens during this time are like table tops. Thoroughly enjoyed Amen Corner. Was fun to see the depth perception on the Par 3 and how thin the landing area is on that green. My only suggestion would be to clean up some of the areas that need paint, i.e. Tour 18 sign in pond on #18, bridges at Amen Corner, etc..... Clubhouse was great and mats on the driving range are expected at this time of year. Thoroughly enjoyed my round and would love to play it again in warmer weather.

Even with the cold weather you can’t go wrong with the Grove Park. Beautiful layout! A must play while in the Asheville area.

Played as a single and hooked up with another single. Pace of play was outstanding. The greens were a little slow due to sanding. Cart paths leave a little to be desired but that's ok. Great value for the money.

Excellent course with (3) 9 hole layouts that play completely different. Black Robin is tough.

Tee Boxes and Fairways are in horrible shape due to winter kill. I think all the courses in WNC are having similar problems. The greens are fantastic! In previous years, their fairways were among the best in WNC. May have to wait til later in the summer for the fairways to come back. They are in the process of reseeding.
